Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus: Accept Impermanence

On November 8, 06:01 AM ET, we experience a potent Full Blood Moon Total Lunar Eclipse at 15º59’ of Taurus. This lunation invites us to accept impermanence and welcome change into our lives, during a time of surprising shifts and sudden events that may force us out of our comfort zones before we feel ready for it.

The Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus is the second Eclipse of the season. It culminates a lunar cycle that started two weeks ago with a Partial Solar Eclipse in Scorpio and a larger, six-month cycle that began on April 30, 2022, with a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Taurus.

We invite you to watch our hour long in depth Total Lunar Eclipse YouTube video premier with Nina:

Full Blood Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus: Pivotal Moment of Maturation

Lunar Eclipses are supercharged Full Moons that happen when the Sun and the Moon oppose each other close to the Nodal Axis, the two points of intersection between the Ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun from our perspective on Earth, and the Moon’s orbit.

When Full Moons coincide with Lunar Eclipses, they mark pivotal moments of maturation, culmination, and release. They bring things to a head and catalyze revelations, facilitating clarity and new understandings of something previously unclear or uncertain. These events represent a time when we reap the rewards of our efforts and see the results of the work we have been doing.

Lunar Eclipses happen when the Moon, the Sun, and the Earth align in a way that allows the shadow of the Earth to prevent sunlight from reaching the Moon. During the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus, the shadow of the Earth will, gradually, completely cover the Moon: the whole process is lasting approximately five hours. This event will be visible from most of North America, Asia, and Australia, as well as from some parts of Europe and South America.

Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus, conjunct the North Node: Opportunities for Redirection

The Lunar Nodes are points of destiny, fate, and karma that mark where Eclipses happen. During Eclipse seasons, when the luminaries align on the Nodes, there are high chances of experiencing unexpected turning points and sudden shifts in our lives, according to the areas of our chart that get activated by them. The Moon is currently on her North Node, while the Sun is on the South Node.

The North Node is associated with our evolutionary direction, with paths and ways of being that feel foreign and unfamiliar. It illustrates a way to balance existing tendencies and inclinations that keep us trapped in cycles of repetition. When Eclipses happen close to this point, they catalyze events and awakenings that redirect our path and guide us toward deeper alignment.

Eclipses always invite us to explore how to harmonize our relationship with the two opposing signs they activate. The current activation of Taurus and Scorpio encourages us to meditate on what stability represents for us, what comfort zones we have been indulging in for too long, in what areas of our lives we feel stagnant or blocked, when we unconsciously need to manipulate or control others to feel safe and secure, and in what areas of life we are resisting change the most.

Full Blood Moon conjunct Uranus: Shocking Separation from the Past

The presence of Uranus, tightly conjunct with the Moon and the North Node, is a potent indicator of exponential acceleration of change and disruption of our stability. Uranus is also referred to as “the Great Awakener” and its prominence maximizes the potential for unpredictable, sudden, shocking events, revelations, and discoveries, already high during Eclipse season. This lunation is likely to disrupt our stability in some unexpected way, propelling us into the unknown at the speed of light before we have a chance to think whether we are ready for it or not, without giving us much time to understand what happened.

Both Taurus and the Moon have to do with comfort, safety, security, and nurturance. The presence of Uranus conjunct with this Lunar Eclipse has the potential to catalyze the emergence of shocking truth and surprising revelations that can inspire us or force us to deconstruct the foundation we built our lives upon. The simultaneous oppositions of the Sun, Mercury, and Venus to Uranus mark drastic and sudden changes in our values, finances, relationships, thinking patterns, and sense of purpose.

These days, we may drastically shift our lifestyle as a result of radical changes in values and of a new awareness of how we can meet our primary needs without sacrificing our freedom, our individuality, and our authentic expression. We may experience events that generate abrupt separations from our past and from something that represents familiarity and comfort to us. This Lunar Eclipse conjunct Uranus invites us to explore how to gracefully let go of attachments that are preventing us from growing.

Sun, Mercury, Venus, Moon, & Uranus square Saturn: Massive Collective Shifts

The Moon and Uranus oppose the Sun, Mercury, and Venus, all in Scorpio and conjunct the South Node. All these planets are squaring Saturn in Aquarius, activating the Saturn-Uranus square, the long-term aspect we have been talking about since 2021. We could say that this Lunar Eclipse is marking the culmination of a process that started when Saturn and Uranus began aspecting each other. Key world events that deeply affect global politics and socio-economic factors are likely to take place. These may influence our relationship with the Earth and with Nature, for instance by affecting food production and distribution, as well as the availability and price of energy and natural resources.

This Lunar Eclipse will bring massive changes in our collective values, perceptions, structures, and lifestyles. We will clearly feel the tension between the pull of the old and the known and our urge to break free from it and explore new solutions, experiences, and ways of being.

On a personal level, the important activation of Saturn suggests a high degree of inner restraint, feelings of limitation and tension, and a need to remain in control to feel safe. It can also correlate to the emergence of paralyzing fears and insecurities arising right when we have opportunities to be fully seen, allow ourselves to be vulnerable, and open our hearts to let love in.

Venus conjunct South Node: Repeating Old Patterns to Alchemize them

Venus is the planetary ruler of Taurus, and she rules both the Lunar Eclipse and the North Node. The Goddess of Love is highly aspected on this lunation, underlying and maximizing the emphasis on the shift in relationship models, financial paradigms, and values that has been taking place.

Venus is now in Scorpio and conjunct with the South Node of the Moon. The presence of the North Node ruler on the Lunar South Node indicates that we need to solve, integrate, and gain awareness of something related to the past before we can move forward. This aspect suggests that repetition may still be necessary to fully alchemize a pattern.

Around this time, pay attention to triggers coming up for you that generate a feeling of familiarity or dejavù. Try to identify past situations these triggers could be linked to, and ask yourself when was the very first time you felt that way, when was the last time you felt that way, and what subconscious beliefs and assumptions might have resulted from and have been reinforced by our experiences.

Full Blood Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus: Liminality of Transitions

As the Total Lunar Eclipse takes place, Mars is retrograde in Gemini and is forming a quincunx aspect to Pluto in Capricorn. This alignment underlines the fact that we are at a pivotal point in our evolutionary journey: the quincunx is an aspect of crisis that brings up the urgent need for adjustments. These days, we may have to acknowledge how desires and urges that are hard to reconcile are generating compulsive and obsessive behaviors that drain our energy and disempower us.

This Lunar Eclipse in Taurus is bringing many questions to the forefront, for all of us, and it is reminding us that this is a time to make radically different choices. How can we release the past with grace? Can we let go of what is no longer aligned with our values without needing to demonize it or destroy it? How can we allow our relationships to organically transition into a different form?

These could be some of the questions we contemplate these days, as we reflect on and renew our relationship with change and with the loss that is inevitable and inherent in all transformational processes. The planets and the South Node in Scorpio remind us of the value of being intentional in grieving what we are leaving behind, what gets taken away from us, and what is no longer sustainable or nourishing.

The Taurus North Node underlines the importance of allowing enough time for new ideas, visions, and desires to emerge from emptiness. This Eclipse is an opportunity to notice how we instinctively try to fill the void that is left when we transition from one chapter of our lives to the next one. It is an invitation to give ourselves permission to simply be and relax in the space of liminality inherent in transitions.

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Scorpio: Endings are Beginnings

On October 25, we experience a potent New Moon Solar Eclipse at 2°07’ of Scorpio, a transformative and intense lunation that will remind us that all endings are beginnings in disguise. This cosmic event is going to last for approximately four hours, and peak at 7:01 AM ET.

The Eclipse will be most strongly felt in Europe, the Middle East, Western Asia, and Northern Africa. This cosmic event, which should not be watched with the naked eye, is going to be visible from some of these areas, particularly from the North-East of Europe, Ukraine, Russia, and the Middle East.

Solar Eclipses: Omens of Impending Changes

Since the beginning of times, Eclipses have been considered omens of impending change and have been equally feared and respected. Humans have always been aware of the fact that the light of the Sun is what makes life on Earth possible: for this reason, Solar Eclipses in particular were not considered a fortunate event, as the sunlight is prevented from reaching us. Nonetheless, we know this is just temporary, and darkness does not have to be negative or scary. Sometimes, when the lights go out, we are drawn to turn inwards and we can see more clearly.

solar eclipse in scorpio

Solar Eclipses occur when a New Moon happens close to the Lunar Nodes, the points marking the intersection between the orbit of the Moon and the Ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun from our perspective on Earth. From our perspective, the Moon and the Sun are conjunct. Astronomically speaking, the Moon is placed between the Sun and the Earth and, on Solar Eclipses, the shadow of the Moon temporarily prevents the light of the Sun from reaching the Earth. Even if the Moon’s dimensions are smaller than the Sun’s, since the Moon is closer to us from our perspective, they appear of the same size due to their particular alignment on Eclipses.

The current Eclipse is going to be partial, as the alignment to the Lunar Nodes is not tight, so the Sun is only going to be partially covered by the Moon.

New Moon Solar Eclipse conjunct the South Node: Purging the Past

As Solar Eclipses always coincide with New Moons, they represent potent new beginnings. However, as this Eclipse is connected to the Lunar South Node, it comes with a flavor or a feeling of an ending. The South Node is the point of the Moon’s orbit associated with our past and old emotional attachments: it represents where we come from, what we already know, and what we are familiar with. The South Node is always opposed to the North Node, describing something unfamiliar, unknown, and unexplored, a path that offers us the key to balance existing tendencies.

When Eclipses happen on the South Node, they stimulate a purging process. The proximity to the Descending Node, also referred to as the Dragon’s tail, is an indicator of the fact that old stories, old emotions, and old attachments are going to come up to be processed, released, or integrated. The past will resurface these days, and we have an opportunity to fully let go of something we used to identify with, something we have been attached to, something that has been holding us back, maybe without us even noticing it. Releasing the past will create the space for something new to come in. In hindsight, we will see clearly that what looked like the end of a cycle was the beginning of a new one.

All these themes are emphasized by the fact that the Eclipse is happening in the sign of Scorpio and is squaring Scorpio’s modern ruler, Pluto, both of them having to do with death and rebirth cycles, with all transformational processes that require us to shed skin or become the butterfly.

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Scorpio: Honoring the Cyclicity of Life

The Sun, the Moon, and the South Node are in the sign of Scorpio, conjunct Venus, and square Pluto.

Our emotional world is more complex when the Moon is in Scorpio, our intuition is powerfully strengthened, and our capacity for emotional and psychological transformation is maximized. This placement is associated with intense magnetism, as well as with instinctual reactions that have the potential to be very destructive, both for ourselves and for others. A risk correlated with the Moon in Scorpio is allowing the intensity of our emotional states to keep us trapped, stagnant, disempowered, and oppressed. Through this combination of energies, we learn that it is necessary to feel the whole range of our emotions, yet we have to take care of not identifying with them or with the story that we associate with them.

solar eclipse in scorpio

Interestingly, Scorpio is the archetype that correlates with Soul evolution and metamorphic processes, nonetheless, it is also one that can express a powerful resistance to change and transformation, due to the strength of its attachments and its emotions. The Taurus-Scorpio polarity is the axis of finances, sexuality, sensuality, intimacy, our values versus others’ values, and our personal resources versus the resources we share. These are the signs where the Nodes currently are and, consequently, where Eclipses are happening. The activation of the Taurus-Scorpio axis teaches us to embrace the dance of holding on and letting go, building and destroying, and to accept that nothing is permanent in the world of form.

Solar Eclipse conjunct Venus: Transforming Relationships and Through Relationships

Venus in Scorpio is passionate and devouring, and her presence in Scorpio, very close to Sun and Moon, emphasizes the role of transforming our relationships and allowing our relationships to transform us during this Eclipse season. This configuration underlines the imperative to restructure and revolutionize the way we connect with both ourselves and others. Our connections and our relating style, as well as our value system, and the way we value ourselves, will undoubtedly change as a result of the inner and outer transformations that are going to take place these days.

The presence of the Moon and Venus in Scorpio suggests that our need to generate conditions that allow us to feel safe and secure is tied up with our desire to establish intimacy and depth of relating with others. This may lead to, consciously or unconsciously, engaging in power games, push-pull dynamics, trying to manipulate others to keep them hooked to us, or attracting someone who tries to do so to us. If these patterns show up for us, it would be valuable to ask ourselves what is the need or the perceived lack underneath the surface-level desire that we are trying to meet or fill vicariously.

Sun, Moon, and Venus square Pluto: Potential for Substantial Transformation

The Sun, the Moon, and Venus in the first degrees of Scorpio are all squaring Pluto in the last degrees of Capricorn. The alignment to Pluto intensifies the Scorpionic undertone of the Eclipse and motivates us to dig deeper to uncover the motivations and intentions behind the desires and cravings that drive ourselves and others.

Issues around intimacy, trust, and vulnerability are likely to come into the spotlight during the upcoming lunar cycle, and especially during the Eclipse Window. We may have opportunities to notice how we are dealing with feelings of loss, betrayal, and abandonment, and pay attention to what is triggered from our past when challenging, uncomfortable, or unexpected experiences present themselves.

There is a high potential for a substantial transformation of our sense of identity, our purpose, our values, our relationships, and our way to process emotions around this time. The tension generated by these three squares to Pluto has the potential to motivate us to empower and transform ourselves, it may generate irrational fears leading to a need to remain in control at all costs, or it may contribute to feelings of disempowerment and helplessness. Despite what may be happening these days, what matters the most is what we are learning about ourselves in the journey, and how aware we can remain amid intense change.

Entering the Eclipse Window: Time of Agitation

Throughout the upcoming weeks, being intentional in creating moments dedicated to grounding, slowing down, nourishing ourselves, spending time in nature, and simply winding down is going to be highly beneficial for our nervous system and emotional health. The lunar cycle that is starting now culminates in a Lunar Eclipse in Taurus tightly conjunct Uranus, likely to feel quite restless and electric.

During the time leading up to this event, we may feel that everything is happening too quickly and unexpectedly for us to fully grasp its meaning or purpose. We may have the feeling we are losing control over our lives and that chaos is taking over. These transitions can be uncomfortable, and the discomfort we feel is directly correlated with our level of resistance to change. The Eclipse Window is a time of agitation, meant to shake up our reality to allow new paths and directions to emerge out of chaos.

This New Moon Solar Eclipse in Scorpio represents an invitation to honor the cyclicity of life. This cosmic event reminds us that in all periods of loss, transition, and endings the seeds of new life are already being planted.

Full Moon in Aries: Power of Vulnerability – October 2022

On October 9, 4:54 PM ET, we experience a Full Moon at 16º32’ of Aries: this lunation, happening while the Moon is conjunct Chiron, brings to maturation a chapter of our healing journey and reminds us of the power of vulnerability.

Full Moons are a time of maturation, release, and closure: they represent a moment to reap the fruits of our work and witness the results of our efforts. At this time of the month, the Moon opposes the Sun, aligning to the same degree of the opposite Zodiac sign. The light of the Sun offers us a glimpse of our inner world, clarifying something previously unclear or uncertain. Full Moons bring revelations and new understandings, and begin the second half of the lunar cycle, a time to let go of our efforts and our intentions and slow down the rhythm of our lives.

This cosmic event represents the peak point of the lunar cycle that started with the Libra New Moon we experienced two weeks ago, on September 25. It is also bringing to maturation a longer cycle that began with the Aries New Moon that took place six months ago, on April 1, 2022, which was also conjunct Chiron.

P.S. if you haven’t already watched, we have an hour long Full Moon in Aries video on our YouTube channel where Nina is guiding us through all the current energies. We highly recommend dedicating time for it, it is very profound and transformative.

Full Moon in Aries: Exploring Interdependence

Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac, the pioneer, the firestarter, the one who begins spontaneous journeys and opens new paths and directions without any guidance but the pull of instinct. When the Moon is here, emotions are quick to come and quick to go, reactivity is higher than usual, and a tendency to make decisions impulsively, following the ebbs and flows of our emotional waves, is often present.

The Aries Full Moon comes during the yearly journey of the Sun through the sign of the Scales. Libra season directs our focus and our awareness on our way to navigate one-to-one connections and all relationship dynamics. The transit of the Sun through Libra increases our attunement to the needs and desires of others and our awareness of what is needed to maintain conditions of peace in our environment. This lunation brings the spotlight very clearly on the relationship axis, inviting us to redirect our attention back to ourselves, our needs, and our desires amid the socially busy Libra season.

full moon in aries

The Aries Full Moon is bringing up the necessity to explore interdependence, finding more harmony between our urge to follow our impulses, needs, and desires and our willingness to nurture and cultivate our relationships with other people. It invites us to explore our connection with our anger, with our primal impulses, with the strength of our raw desires, and brings to our attention disempowering beliefs and assumptions relative to the power of our will and our assertion.

Full Moon conjunct Chiron: Power of Vulnerability

The Full Moon in Aries peaks as the Moon is conjunct with Chiron and while they both oppose the Sun and Venus in Libra. Chiron is a celestial body placed between Saturn and Uranus, mythologically associated with the figure of the wounded healer and teacher. In Astrology, Chiron is connected with our healing journey and has a key role in our individuation, particularly in those evolutionary processes that are born out of navigating grief and rejection from a place of openness and surrender.

The Aries Full Moon conjunct Chiron is maximizing our sensitivity, both emotional and energetic, while illuminating wounds that aren’t fully healed. This Full Moon is revealing to us something we are being encouraged to address, inviting us to progress on our healing journey and take full responsibility for our healing.

The Moon-Chiron conjunction is likely to feel very intense emotionally, and it will shine a light on something we can no longer postpone addressing. As this alignment is happening in Aries, it is likely to highlight wounds and insecurities surrounding our strength, resiliency, leadership skills, power, confidence, and assertiveness. This Chiron-Moon conjunction in the sign of the Warrior reminds us of the power of vulnerability and challenges us to remain open even when it feels like the hardest thing we could do.

Full Moon opposite Venus: Conflict as Learning Opportunity

Chiron and the Moon are opposing Venus and the Sun in Libra. This configuration is offering us chances to gain awareness of how our wounds and insecurities are affecting our relationships and the way we show up for others. It is pointing at disempowering beliefs about our self-worth and self-value that are influencing how we experience connections, diminishing our capacity to fully receive and let in love, affection, and care.

This is a time to reflect on who we are in relation to others, and on what we need to feel free to express ourselves authentically, without compromising our needs and desires, while remaining open and available for the people in our lives. We have opportunities to explore how to establish a healthy interdependence within our connections, avoiding the extremes of enmeshed codependency and detached independence.

full moon in aries

Libra rules peace while Aries rules war. These days, we have an opportunity to reflect on our relationship with harmony and our relationship with conflict while exploring the link between conflict and intimacy. The current lunation is inviting us to discover how we can achieve a deeper, more authentic sense of peace in our lives: at this particular time, this may require confronting something or someone, cutting cords, or setting new boundaries and limits within our relationships.

Mars square Neptune: Confused Desires

The planetary ruler of the Aries Full Moon is Mars: analyzing the condition of the Red Planet gives us more information about how this Full Moon is manifesting and unfolding. Mars is in Gemini, where he remains until March 2023, as he is going to station retrograde in the sign on October 30.

Mars is currently in a square aspect to Neptune in Pisces, which is another indicator of increased empathy, sensitivity, emotionality, and awareness of collective experiences. This alignment can correspond to feelings of not knowing how or when to act, and a sense of confusion relative to our desires and goals. These days, we may feel inclined to disperse our energy in too many directions, which is emphasized by the fact that the square is happening in Mutable signs. An inclination to avoid challenges and confrontations may be present around this time. We may find it hard to act on our desires and take responsibility for them, and it may be more challenging than usual to express and channel our anger constructively.

Mars trine Saturn & Mars square Mercury

Nonetheless, we are also experiencing a beneficial Mars-Saturn trine, which helps counterbalance the tendencies associated with the Mars-Neptune square. This alignment supports our productivity, promoting more grounded and practical action as well as a goal-oriented approach to decision-making. Saturn inspires us to bring our ideas down to earth, prioritize intelligently, and align our choices and the way we invest our energy with our long-term desires, values, and visions.

It is also relevant to consider that Mars in Gemini has been squaring Mercury in Virgo for a while, as Mercury has recently stationed direct. This square reminds us to be mindful of not being excessively combative in our communications, emphasizing a tendency already underlined by Mars’ transit through the sign of the Twins. On this Full Moon, it is advised to take care of how we are asserting our ideas, beliefs, and opinions, and to keep into consideration the impact of the way we word our sentences. Mercury is still opposing Neptune, which points to possible confusion and misunderstandings, and offers us an invitation to attune to intuitive and subtle perceptions instead of solely relying on logic.

Full Moon in Aries: Focus on Healing, Evolving, and Transforming

The Aries Full Moon encourages us to explore ways to be in relationships that promote our individual growth and unfolding and let go of ways of relating that aren’t supportive of our personal empowerment and evolutionary development. It is an invitation to trust our capacity to form and maintain authentic connections, and reminds us that genuine relationships don’t require us to abandon ourselves, our needs, and our desires in order to exist.

This lunation encourages us to attune to a dynamic balance between the energy we invest into “me” and the energy we invest into “us”. This is a central theme of the Aries Full Moon, which brings the spotlight on any imbalances, extremes, and misalignments in our relationship with ourselves and our relationships with others.

Meanwhile, Pluto is very powerful as it is stationary direct in Capricorn, an event likely to mark a shift and a turning point in our awareness. Together with the activation of Chiron, it indicates a powerful focus on healing, evolving, and transforming, while underlining the need to keep our hearts open and remain present with the feelings and emotions that arise.

New Moon in Libra September 2022: New Ways of Relating

On September 25, 5:54 PM ET, we experience a New Moon at 2º48’ of Libra that invites us to discover new ways of relating, with both others and ourselves.

New Moons are all about beginnings and they inaugurate the start of a new cycle of growth. The Moon is still invisible from our perspective, emphasizing the importance of turning inward to be able to set intentions and plant seeds from an aligned and conscious place. This month, the Moon meets the Sun in the sign of the Scales, beginning a cycle centered around mastery of the realm of relationships.

New Moon in Libra: Karmic Encounters & Synchronicities

Libra is the seventh Zodiac sign and the first one through which we enter the social sphere as equals, beginning the process of integration into the collective that unfolds as we progress through the second half of the Zodiac. At the Libra stage of our evolutionary journey, we learn that relationships are an essential part of life: we gain awareness of the way we participate in connections and, by exploring that, we learn more about ourselves through a process of comparison. We objectively recognize what is fair and we establish adjustments that increase harmony, equality, and balance, exploring how to achieve win-win solutions that enhance everyone’s reality and experience.

New Moon in Libra September 2022

The Libra New Moon could be a time of karmic encounters and fated meetings: connections that begin now may come with a feeling of destiny and synchronicity. This cosmic event is likely to correspond to the start of new relationships, collaborations, and partnerships that have the potential to be different from what we experienced before if we navigate them consciously. Around this time, existing relationships could change their form and our social circles may expand or shift. We may realize that our current boundaries are no longer serving us or the health of our connections and decide to explore new ones.

New Moon conjunct Venus & Mercury: Need for Harmony & Safe Relationships

Venus and retrograde Mercury are in the last degrees of Virgo and they are conjunct the Sun and the Moon in the early degrees of Libra. Venus is also the planetary ruler of Libra and rules the New Moon: her condition gives us more information about the quality of this lunation, hence it is particularly important to consider.

The conjunction of Venus and the Moon emphasizes our need to generate a sense of security, safety, comfort, and nurturance through relationships, which is already strong when the Moon is in Libra. Our desires for intimacy, belonging, sharing, and open-hearted connections are maximized with this configuration, and so is our need to be surrounded by harmony, keep the peace, and prevent conflict. We are likely to feel a desire to slow down, indulge in pleasurable pursuits, and connect with our bodies, our senses, Nature, and the beauty all around us.

The activation of retrograde Mercury and its conjunction with Venus may indicate a desire to reach out to people from our past and increase the potential of receiving messages from them. We may notice an urge to find clarity and closure in old relationships and say unspoken words so that we are able to fully release the past and move forward.

The retrograde Mercury-Venus-New Moon conjunction underlines the importance of gaining awareness of our communication patterns in relationships and invites us to reassess, redefine, and rewire them. As Mercury and Venus are in the sign of Virgo, it points to the necessity of being appropriately discerning to introduce adjustments and refine existing communication habits in order to promote healthy and authentic harmony in our relationships.

Sun, Moon, Venus & Mercury opposite Neptune and trine Pluto

The Sun, the Moon, Venus, and Mercury are all opposite Neptune in Pisces, now retrograde. These alignments indicate that our perceptions may be clouded by fantasy and it may be hard to see situations and people clearly right now, as we are particularly sensitive to the emotions and feelings of others and our idealism is increased. We could find it more challenging than usual to distinguish between wishful thinking or projection and reality, and have hard times relating to people according to where they are at, rather than according to their potential.

As Mercury is currently in retrograde motion, it points to a need to redefine our values, our ideals, or our spiritual philosophy, and this could be particularly the case if we often end up feeling deceived or disillusioned by others. These aspects indicate great compassion and empathy, the potential for heart-opening experiences, and the maximization of our creative and artistic abilities, as it will be easier to tap into the collective unconscious and convey collective experiences and emotions through our creative expression.

New Moon in Libra September 2022

Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Venus are also trine retrograde Pluto in Capricorn. This configuration suggests a need to deepen our connections, our conversations, and our awareness of the emotional and psychological patterns playing out at a subconscious level, to relate with both ourselves and others in a more profound way. Pluto’s need for radical honesty may clash with the idealism and the need for idyllic perfection sought by Neptune. Finding a way to balance the two without getting to the extremes of total cynicism or total self-delusion could be a challenge that arises around the time of this New Moon.

New Moon opposite Jupiter: Harmonizing Imbalances

The Sun, the Moon, Venus, and Mercury are opposing retrograde Jupiter in Aries, another very active planet at the time of this lunation. The Sun opposite Jupiter can reflect a tendency to overestimate our energetic capacities and gravitate towards overdoing and overexpansion. This alignment is energizing and motivating: it is supporting our self-confidence, our enthusiasm, our generosity, our willingness to take risks, and our capacity to see the bright side of life.

These days, however, we may find it challenging to harmonize our emotional needs and our desire to expand and make new experiences. The Moon-Jupiter opposition on the Aries-Libra axis, together with the involvement of Venus, can indicate feeling conflicted relative to our need to cultivate our relationships with others and our desire to explore life independently on our own terms. This is likely to be a theme of the upcoming lunar cycle and will emerge very clearly around the time of the intense Aries Full Moon conjunct Chiron, coming up on October 9.

The opposition between the New Moon, Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter invites us to harmonize imbalances and gain awareness of any tendency to gravitate towards extremes, in particular regarding our energetic investments in ourselves and in others. This lunation invites us to discover how we can restore a sense of harmony and balance in our lives, to set appropriate boundaries to avoid participating in relationship dynamics that feel one-sided, and ask ourselves why we tend to co-create specific relational experiences and what is our role in them.

New Moon in Libra: New Ways of Relating

This Libra New Moon is inviting us to evaluate how the relationship we have established with ourselves is being reflected in our relationships with other people, and vice versa. We may discover that, if we adjust the way we are showing up for ourselves, the dynamics and patterns of our external relationships shift accordingly. It is a good time to reflect and journal upon what type of change would be required, on our part, to attract and maintain the kind of connections we desire, and see what happens if we work on that.

The presence of Venus in the sign of Virgo represents an invitation to be more self-contained and discerning relative to the type of relationships we participate in, the social settings we choose, and the amount of time and attention we invest into our connections. This configuration reminds us to consider the broader energetic impact of our decisions and our participation in certain situations, relationships, and dynamics. We have an opportunity to evaluate and reflect on whether or not our choices are nourishing us, are in alignment with our values, and are enhancing our overall health and well-being.

The Libra New Moon invites us to deepen our awareness of how we relate with others and how that affects us, calling for deeper discernment regarding how we connect and with whom, what boundaries are in place, and how communication is set up. New Moon in Virgo: Living Mindfully

On August 27, 04:16 AM ET, a New Moon at 4º03’ of Virgo invites us to choose to live more mindfully, become more conscious of how we show up in our daily lives, and explore tools and practices that facilitate functionality and self-awareness.

Virgo season has recently begun and the Moon now joins the Sun in the sign of the Maiden, starting a new lunar cycle. New Moons are new beginnings, they invite us to plant seeds and set fresh intentions for the month ahead. The Moon is still dark from our perspective: this invites us to turn inwards and reflect on how we would like to move forward. The Virgo New Moon is a very favorable lunation to begin new projects, adopt new habits, and explore our relationship with all the different dimensions of health.

New Moon in Virgo: Mindfulness in the Mundane

Virgo is a Yin, Earth, Mutable sign, ruled by Mercury. This sign correlates to discernment, critical thinking, self-analysis, problem-solving, as well as the process of practically applying the knowledge we have accumulated. Virgo is connected with our daily work, daily habits, daily routines, and daily choices. In its conscious expression, this sign reminds us of the sacredness that can be experienced in the mundane, when we decide to live mindfully.

new moon in virgo

Virgo is associated with digestion, and this Virgo New Moon invites us to be aware of how what we consume, what we surround ourselves with, and how we invest our energy and attention affects our energy, encouraging us to discern more carefully what we take in and to align our daily choices with our priorities and long-term goals. We begin a lunar cycle centered around deepening our relationship with health and healing as well as our awareness of how our daily actions impact our wellbeing.

The archetype of Virgo is associated with those crises linked to feelings of not being ready, good enough, or perfect enough to take action and make the changes we would like to make. While New Moons are a great time to begin new projects, endeavors, and experiments, these days we might hold ourselves back from initiating because we feel inadequate, we spend too much time overthinking details, or we are excessively focused on what can go wrong. Nonetheless, the square between Mars, the Sun, and the Moon will ignite our desire to take action and our urge to generate change in our lives.

New Moon square Mars: Being Conscious of how we Respond

The Sun and the Moon are in an exact square to Mars in Gemini. The upcoming lunar cycle will give us opportunities to consciously combine the efficient, down-to-earth, pragmatic style of Virgo with the intellectual power, courage, and assertiveness of Mars in Gemini. We will have chances to explore how to direct constructively the energy of Mars and find practical applications of the ideas and insights that come up in our minds.

The current planetary configuration underlines the importance of being mindful of how we respond to what takes place in our reality, inviting us to make sure we take time to self-regulate before reacting, yet without suppressing our anger. The Sun, Moon, and Mars alignment indicates a high degree of impulsivity and reactivity: our inner frustrations, tensions, and anger need a voice, they ask to be clearly expressed. These days, we will have chances to deepen our emotional self-awareness, our understanding of the link between emotions, body, mind, and Spirit, and of the way energies such as anger and frustration, when unexpressed, can somatize in the physical body.

Impulsively speaking or acting provocatively, without forethought and consideration, or even feeling the urge to break free from routines and habits that aren’t stimulating or exciting any longer could bring up guilt and shame. This can be an invitation to explore our relationship with these feelings and notice whether they arise as conditioned responses, a result of beliefs and ways of being that were imposed on us as part of our programming yet do not align with natural laws.

Mercury trine Mars, trine Pluto, & opposing Jupiter

Mercury, the ruler of the Virgo New Moon, is very active these days. The Messenger is in the early degrees of Libra, approaching an opposition to Jupiter in Aries, separating from a trine to Pluto in Capricorn, and approaching a trine to Mars in Gemini. Mercury in Libra, together with the activation of Venus, highlights the importance of working on communication dynamics in relationships during the upcoming lunar cycle. We will have opportunities to refine our way to express our thoughts and feelings while becoming more aware of all the non-verbal exchanges that are always going on in the background.

The Mercury-Mars trine supports our capacity to assert ourselves clearly, yet politely and respectfully. This aspect inspires us to speak our mind directly, without being rude or aggressive, counterbalancing the Sun-Moon-Mars square. The Mercury-Pluto trine has been already active for a few days: it indicates a deep, investigative focus, an inclination to uncover secrets and mysteries, and a desire to understand the psychology of everything, digging beneath the surface of the obvious.

new moon in virgo

The Mercury-Jupiter opposition brings the spotlight on the need to bridge the left and the right brain hemispheres, and avoid the extremes of relying exclusively on facts or relying exclusively on intuition. This alignment invites us to question our habitual learning style, explore both deductive and inductive processes, be mindful of the dangers of exaggeration and overconfidence, and evaluate our attachment to our existing beliefs.

Venus square Uranus, square the Nodes, and opposite Saturn

As the New Moon takes place, Venus in Leo squares retrograde Uranus, the Lunar Nodes, and opposes Saturn. This configuration could bring up contrasting drives, needs, and desires in relationships as well as sudden shifts in values and disruptions in the global economy. In particular, Venus squaring the Nodes indicates a karmic time in relationships and financial matters and increases the possibilities of turning points, shifts of fate, unexpected encounters, and sudden changes in our connections.

The Venus-Uranus square magnifies our need for freedom and independence, lowers our tolerance for boredom and routine, and intensifies our desire for new experiences, stimulation, and excitement. However, the Venus-Saturn opposition brings up a conflict between our desire to do what we enjoy and what feels good and the obligations and duties we have to take care of.

These days, we may realize that, sometimes, blindly honoring existing commitments may lead us to compromise our integrity or our values. Alternatively, we may notice that we may be running away from commitment due to an irrational fear of being trapped or limited by it. Venus’ activation of the Saturn-Uranus square underlines invites us to explore new relationship paradigms, new value systems, and new ways of perceiving wealth and abundance. This is a good time to redefine boundaries in our connections, work on improving our self-worth, overcome scarcity mindset, cultivate receptivity, and allow spaciousness in our relationships yet without escaping from challenges.

New Moon in Virgo: Conscious Practice & Beginners’ Mindset

The activation of Mutable signs Gemini and Virgo, together with the presence of Neptune in Pisces, that will be conjunct the upcoming Full Moon, highlights the importance of being adaptable, versatile, and open to change and exploration. Meanwhile, the abundance of retrograde planets inspires an introspective and contemplative focus, which may make it challenging to take action, initiate, move forward, or begin new endeavors.

The Virgo New Moon reminds us of the power of small, consistent steps, of the value of keeping our daily lives functional and organized, of the weight of details, and of the importance of taking care of ourselves by committing to practices and routines that nourish both our body and our spirit, supporting the different dimensions of our health.

The New Moon in the sign of the Maiden is an opportunity to set practical intentions, reorganize our routines, and begin to structure our days in a way that improves our overall health and wellness. This lunation reminds us of the value of daily practice, of embracing a beginner’s mindset, of making sure we are always honing and refining our skillset. Instead of aiming for perfection as an end goal, we are being encouraged to focus on keep practicing and to embrace a devotional, mindful attitude towards those daily chores and tasks we tend to perform automatically and unconsciously.

Uranus Retrograde 2022: Questioning Certainties

On August 24, 2022, 09:53 AM ET, Uranus stations retrograde at 18º55’ of Taurus, once again taking the spotlight and joining Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron, Neptune, and Pluto, already in an apparent backward motion. This transit will encourage us to question our certainties and break free from ways of living that don’t feel authentic any longer. Uranus remains retrograde until January 22, 2023, when it stations direct at 14º56’ of the sign of the Bull.

This shift is likely to inspire us to redefine our value system, reflect on our relationship with our bodies, and rethink our concept of abundance, wealth, and security. It will be felt more strongly by those of us who have personal planets or angles between 10º and 20º of Fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, and Scorpio.

The evolutionary significance of Retrogrades

Retrogrades consist of the apparent backward motion of a celestial body from our perspective on Earth. The retrograde phase of any planet is a time for revision, reset, reconstruction, and readjustment of our relationship with the archetype involved. The shift in motion inspires us to withdraw and direct our attention and focus inwardly, offering us an opportunity to review, reassess, and reconsider what happened when the planet was in direct motion, establishing adjustments if necessary.

When many planets are in retrograde motion, the pace of our lives seems to slow down: there seems to be little action happening externally, and things don’t move forward as quickly as we would like to. However, retrogrades are said to accelerate the pace of our evolution as they intensify the impulse to decondition, increasing our desire to question the status quo and liberate ourselves from limitations and restrictions.

The transit of Uranus through Taurus

Uranus, the modern ruler of Aquarius, correlates with the impulse to innovate, attune to the future, break the rules, and revolutionize our lives. It is the planet of liberation and individuation and has to do with the process of breaking free from stagnation, comfort, and illusions of security. The sign of Taurus has to do with our value system, with our relationship with abundance and wealth, with our receptivity, with our relationship to ourselves, our sensuality, and our body. It is connected to survival issues, to how we make sure our basic needs are met, and to the development of our talents, skills, and resources. Uranus has been here since 2018 and remains in the sign until 2026.

Uranus’ journey through Taurus emphasizes the importance of embodiment, of reconnecting with our primal nature, with the Earth, and with our inherent resourcefulness. By destabilizing the foundations on which we have built our lives, disrupting the economic paradigms, and threatening our stability, this transit is inspiring us to revolutionize our values and our way of living.

Uranus Retrograde 2022

This retrograde cycle points to the necessity to redefine our relationship with the Earth, our physical bodies, our senses, and our relationship with our sensuality. It will inspire us to reflect on how our values have been changing and remind us that our priorities must change accordingly. It is an opportunity to embrace slower, more organic rhythms, rooted in a conscious connection with our bodies and with Nature.

The Uranus-North Node conjunction

The North Node of the Moon is also in Taurus, and Uranus crossed it at the beginning of the month. The Nodes mainly move retrograde, so Uranus will remain within the orb of a conjunction with the North Node for a few more months. The North Node indicates the path we are being encouraged to take as the way to balance existing tendencies that keep us stuck in stagnation and repetition. When planets join this point in space, their role becomes key to our personal and collective evolution.

The Uranus-North Node conjunction and the simultaneous Uranus-South Node opposition highlight the importance of breaking free from situations of emotional dependency, enmeshment, and financial arrangements that don’t support the development of self-reliance and self-trust and hold us back from individuating.

Uranus is ultimately about liberation from conditioning, stagnation, and limitation. Uranus together with the North Node in the sign of Taurus inform us of the necessity of developing authentic self-reliance through our unique talents and skills, of believing in ourselves and in the value we have to offer to the world. Collectively, it points to the need of reconnecting with the land, establishing self-sufficient systems for food and energy production, and sustainably restructuring the global economy.

The Saturn-Uranus square will continue to be active

Saturn is also currently in retrograde motion and will station direct on October 23, at 18º35’ of Aquarius. At that time, Uranus will have reached 17º36’ of Taurus. Saturn and Uranus have been squaring each other for the entirety of 2021 and are going to remain in a square for the rest of the calendar year, which will be felt strongly, especially during September and October. Saturn will begin to separate from Uranus after stationing direct.

This type of square is a Last Quarter square, as it happens after the two planets have opposed each other, and is associated with a crisis in consciousness. For this reason, we may feel a sense of crisis linked with the need to restructure our lives in a completely new way, and not knowing what that is going to be and feel like, as it is different from everything that has come before. This aspect brings into the spotlight our resistance to change and the tension generated by our tendency to hold on to the known, to what we perceive as secure.

Uranus Retrograde 2022

The interplay between past and future, old and new, known and unknown, is going to be very present these days, and we will experience the friction between the desire to radically change and the need to feel secure and in control. Saturn is also squaring the Nodal Axis, which underlines the fear of taking full responsibility for our choices and the insecurity coming with claiming ourselves as the authority of our lives.

Uranus retrograde in Taurus: Reassessing Shifts in Values & Priorities

Uranus stationing retrograde invites us to rethink, reconsider, review, recalibrate, and reassess the shift in values, beliefs, and priorities that has been taking place both collectively and individually. It is an opportunity to reflect on how we are moving forward in our deconditioning process, and reorient according to the changes that have taken place, both internally and externally, throughout the last seven months, while Uranus was direct.

To deal with Uranus transits, it is crucial to know what helps us find our center again, and what tools we can use to regulate and rewire our nervous system in a way that helps us deal with uncertainty and stress from a grounded place. From this state, we can safely practice trusting ourselves and our inner compass as our guidance system instead of relying on the outside world, other people, and external authorities.

Pink Full Moon in Libra: Renewing Relationships

On April 16, 2:54 PM ET, the Moon opposes the Sun and we experience a Full Moon at 26º45’ of Libra, popularly known as the Pink Full Moon. The opposition between the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Libra brings to maturation a cycle surrounding relational dynamics and invites us to redefine and renew our existing relationships.

Full Moons happen when the Sun and the Moon are transiting on the same degree of opposing signs. They represent the culmination and maturation of the lunar cycle: they allow us to see the results and the fruits of what we have been working on. These alignments tend to bring up a conflict between the rational and the emotional, between what we see and what we don’t see. At this time of the month, we often have revelations and experiences of clarity that facilitate changes in our inner and outer reality. As the current Full Moon is happening in the sign of Libra, these changes will have to do with our relationships.

This is the first Full Moon after March Equinox and the first one of the New Astrological Year. It is also referred to as the Pink Moon, as it comes together with the blossoming of pink moss flowers in the Northern Hemisphere of the globe, particularly in the Northern and Eastern parts of the United States.

Pink Full Moon in Libra: Seeing Clearly our Relationship Dynamics

The Full Moon in Libra is an opportunity to gain awareness of our relationship patterns, as it brings up the energetic imbalances of all of our “self versus other” dynamics. Libra is the sign of the other, and it is opposite to Aries, the sign of the self. One is about peace, diplomacy, and negotiation, while the other, ruled by the God of War, is about self-assertion, instinct, and the way we express anger.

Libra is represented by the Scales, the only inanimate object of the Zodiac, and it correlates to Justice, diplomacy, and the endless search for balance. Through Libra, we learn that balance is not a static condition, it is a dynamic state made of ongoing adjustments and constant attunement to the present moment. In modern society, there can be a misunderstanding or distortion of the concept of balance which can result in a search for some kind of staticity that ends up blocking evolution.

Pink Full Moon in Libra April 16 Moon Omens

The opposition between the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Libra shows us what the price of maintaining peace may be. The Libra Full Moon is inviting us to reflect on whether we are abandoning ourselves to maintain a superficial sense of peace and connection, or, on the contrary, if we are addicted to creating drama in our relationships as a way to feel alive, special, and worthy of attention. These dynamics are underlined by the Moon’s tense square to Pluto.

Full Moon square Pluto: Transforming Emotional Patterns

The Sun-Moon opposition is squaring Pluto in Capricorn, generating what is technically known as a T-square configuration.

The Moon square Pluto gives us possibilities to transform existing emotional attachments, reactions, and patterns. During these days, we will have opportunities to become aware of any unconscious tendencies to manipulate others to keep them tied to us for our security and comfort. If we have internalized feelings of lack, abandonment, and deprivation in our childhood and developed an insecure attachment style, creating situations of codependency and deep emotional entanglements may be the only way we have to feel safe and secure, taken care of, valued, and appreciated.

The current Moon-Pluto square could bring all this up, as it indicates a necessity for psychological and emotional transformation which could happen through intense and confronting relationship experiences. For this reason, we attract and feel attracted by people that won’t give us what our mind wants, who won’t satisfy our conscious needs, to instead satisfy urges or cravings that are deeply unconscious. The main evolutionary requirement is the transformation of existing security patterns through our interactions.

The Sun squares Pluto too, an aspect that can signal power struggles and a fear of being controlled or destroyed by others. This aspect indicates that it is time to transform our creative and personal expression, reconsider an identity we are attached to, and renew our sense of purpose. We may release an old sense of self that was tied up to a relationship or to being in relationship in a certain way and begin to build a new one.

Full Moon quincunx Jupiter and Neptune: Giving from a Full Cup

The Full Moon is forming a quincunx or inconjunct aspect to the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Pisces. This is an aspect of paradox and incongruence, as the planets involved can’t see each other while traveling signs of incompatible elements, different modalities, and opposite polarities.

Through the Libra-Pisces quincunx, we learn that love is unconditional but relationships should not be. During these days, we will have chances to see where we have been self-sacrificing, where we have been over-giving, and acknowledge whether we are emotionally dependent on others. This alignment may show us where we are out of balance, by bringing our attention to dynamics of idealization and projection that are preventing us from having fully honest and authentic relationships.

Pink Full Moon in Libra April 16 Moon Omens

Venus in Pisces is the ruler of the Full Moon. It is approaching a conjunction with Neptune and Jupiter and a sextile aspects to Mercury and Uranus in Taurus. The presence of Venus in Pisces highlights our tendency to see the positive potential of people and situations and facilitate forgiveness, loving acceptance, kindness, and empathy while inviting us to make sure that we are giving from a full cup. Venus’ sextiles to Mercury and Uranus will support communication dynamics: it indicates an openness around exploring different ways to be in connection and an ability to relate with people very different from us.

Mercury conjunct Uranus, Full Moon trine Saturn & Mars

As the Full Moon in Libra takes place, Mercury is conjunct Uranus in Taurus, an aspect that is already active even if it goes exact on April 18. The Mercury-Uranus alignment facilitates open-mindedness, epiphanies, inventiveness, and creative breakthroughs. It also indicates some mental restlessness, a sense of urgency relative to decision making, and the possibility of sudden and unexpected changes in our plans for the future. This conjunction is taking place in the earthy, sensual, sign of Taurus: exploring new ways of thinking could lead to tangible and lasting innovation.

Meanwhile, the supportive trine between the Full Moon and Saturn in Aquarius will help us be more grounded, realistic, and practical, counterbalancing the dreamy, magical energy of Pisces, Jupiter, and Neptune. This is an aspect that adds pragmatism and common sense into our lives, facilitating sober, lucid emotional management and supporting our maturation process. The Full Moon is also in a trine to Mars in Aquarius, an alignment that promotes healthy assertiveness and the honest communication of what we are feeling and sensing while helping us separate from what doesn’t nurture us.

Pink Full Moon in Libra

Pink Full Moon in Libra: Renewing Relationships

This Full Moon in Libra invites us to redefine our existing connections and the way we show up in relationships, possibly marking big shifts in some of them, particularly those that began on the Libra New Moon that took place six months ago. Around this time, some connections could end, some may change their form, and some others may be completely redefined.

This lunation will illuminate underlying dynamics, unconscious patterns, and unspoken undercurrents that are at the core of our interactions with others. During these days, we may reevaluate the foundation of our connections, the way we behave in relationships, the way we bond with others, and the repetitive patterns that keep showing up for us. We may start to become aware of an unconscious addiction to conflict, drama, high sensations, and strong emotions, and find the courage to begin to make different choices. We may notice patterns of codependency, emotional addiction, and people-pleasing, and begin the process of working through these.

Pink Full Moon in Libra April 16 Moon Omens

The process of transformation of unconscious patterns and the transition to new, conscious ones may be uncomfortable for our minds, but it’s important to remember that whatever shows up for us it is helping us grow and evolve emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. Considering that the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction is still very prominent, we can see everything that takes place these days as an invitation to open our hearts and to find the courage to keep them open, even if we are navigating intense circumstances.

This Full Moon is an opportunity to renew or redefine our commitments to the people we are in a relationship with and gain better awareness of how the way we connect with others informs us of what we need to change in our connection with ourselves.

Venus direct in Capricorn: Time for Changes

On January 29, 03:46 AM ET, Venus stations direct at 11°04’ of Capricorn after being retrograde since December 19. Venus will remain in the sign until March 6.

Venus’ shift of motion is a time for us to make changes according to what took place during the retrograde. These changes are likely to involve our romantic and social life, the global economy, and our personal finances. After a process of rethinking our values, changing the way we inwardly relate with ourselves, and reevaluating the purpose of our connections, it is now the moment to act accordingly.

Venus in Capricorn: Long-Term Thinking

In Astrology, Venus rules two signs, Taurus and Libra. This planet correlates with the relationship we have with ourselves, which in turn determines the type of people we attract into our lives and the connections we tend to form. The archetypal Goddess of Love and Beauty is about wealth, abundance, and receptivity. For this reason, it is associated with our connection to money and with how we manage, spend, and invest our resources.

Capricorn is about structure, form, time, space, and boundaries. It correlates with the social structure and its rules, norms, and expectations, with external institutions and authorities, and with the journey of becoming and trusting our own authority.

In the sign of the Sea Goat, Venus tends to express herself in a rather cautious, controlled, traditional, and sober way. During this transit, we value stability and reliability more than usual. We gravitate towards long-term thinking, and we aim to invest our time, energy, and finances wisely.

Understanding Venus’ Cycle

Venus goes into retrograde motion every 18 months, and this event always marks major shifts in our relationships, values, and finances. It is an opportunity to reconsider, reassess, and redefine how we desire to relate with others, with ourselves, and with society at large.

Retrograde Venus met the Sun on January 8, and their conjunction began a new Venus cycle. This alignment offered us a chance to renew the foundation of our relationships, align with new values, and explore new ways of being in connection, a process that will keep unfolding more clearly and tangibly as Venus moves direct.

The post-shadow phase of a retrograde cycle invites readjustments and brings new understandings of what has been taking place. As the planet begins moving forward again on the same area of the sky where it was retrograding, the pace of our lives speeds up and changes begin to be implemented. The current post-shadow phase will last until March 2, when Venus will reach 26°29’ of the sign, the degree where the retrograde started. After that date, we will notice more clarity about what has been going on and what we truly desire.

Venus direct in Capricorn: New Ways of Being

While Venus is in Capricorn, we may fear other people’s judgments more than we habitually do and, as a result, we may feel more tempted to conform to social expectations. The retrograde cycle that just came to an end gave us an opportunity to reflect on our relationship with the societal systems and structures. It brought up values, relationship styles, and ways of managing finances that needed to be reviewed and redefined.

Venus direct in Capricorn

As Venus moves direct, we have an opportunity to take action on the insights and ideas we had while it was retrograde. The Goddess of Love offers us an invitation to actively gravitate towards new ways of being, give more space to our feelings, and refuse to adhere to standards or rules of conduct established by the mainstream that don’t feel true to us.

Venus square Chiron, conjunct Mars, and conjunct Pluto

Venus stations direct in a tense square to Chiron in Aries. Their alignment is likely to increase our sensitivity and vulnerability, bringing up wounds linked to feeling rejected in relationships and social situations. We have an opportunity to reflect on the foundation of our self-worth and self-love, make adjustments in our behavior and in our relationship choices.

During the rest of her journey through Capricorn, Venus will join Mars and Pluto. Venus will form two conjunctions with Mars in a short time span, due to Venus’ reduced speed of motion after the retrograde. Their first conjunction is on February 16 in Capricorn, an invitation to align our values and our desires and explore new ways of being in connection. Around this time, there is likely to be an important focus on intimate relationships and a surge in our creativity and passion.

Venus direct in Capricorn

Later, on March 3, Venus perfects her third conjunction with Pluto. The Venus retrograde cycle started while Venus was conjunct with Pluto, and this exponentially increased its intensity. The last Venus-Pluto alignment will promote deep introspection, and a consequent transformation of our relating patterns. It may destroy or radically change connections that aren’t built on a foundation of truth and honesty.

Venus stations direct in Capricorn: Time for Changes

During these days, expect relevant changes in global economic policies and financial markets. Those of us with personal placements in the central degrees of Cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn are going to feel the shift stronger than others, and will probably experience significant events in relationships, income, or values.

Venus in direct motion through Capricorn represents an opportunity to align with new values, set new boundaries, and explore different ways of connecting and relating. Karmic encounters or separations, unexpected beginnings and endings are possible. Many things and events are likely to make more sense in the upcoming weeks. Venus stationing direct will bring more clarity and understanding. This shift will remind us to be true to our values and feelings and make choices accordingly.

Mars enters Capricorn: Mastering our Will

On January 24, 7:53 AM ET, Mars leaves Sagittarius and enters Capricorn. Mars will remain in the sign of the Sea Goat until March 6, when it will enter Aquarius simultaneously with Venus.

In Capricorn, Mars expresses its qualities in a structured and practical way. This combination of energies supports self-motivation and self-determination. As a Cardinal Earth archetype, Capricorn is the master builder: with Mars here, we want to manifest something tangible with our life force, and we don’t like wasting time. The upcoming transit will inspire us to strive for efficiency and excellence and aim to create something solid, valuable, and long-lasting.

Mars enters Capricorn: Commitment to Self-Mastery

The transit of Mars in Sagittarius corresponds to a tendency to channel our energy and drive in a multitude of directions. During this transit, we want to gain more experience, expand our philosophical understanding of life, and explore all of our desires, no matter how contradictory they are.

Mars entering Capricorn marks a clear shift: we now desire to structure the wisdom and the experience we have gained and channel our life force in a specific direction. We aim to build something that will stand the test of time and we are ready to remove all obstacles on our path. With Mars in Capricorn, we strive to achieve self-mastery and learn to direct our will consciously.

Mars enters Capricorn

Both Mars and Capricorn are Cardinal archetypes of initiation: this transit is a good moment to start committing to something, set goals, and begin new paths. We have an opportunity to structure our intentions and plans, define a clear strategy, and gain mastery over how we spend time and channel our energy.

Exploring our Idea of Success

During the upcoming weeks, we may ask ourselves what we want to work hard for, what is worth our time and efforts. Capricorn reminds us not to be in a hurry, that good things take time, that there’s no need to rush the process. Mars in Capricorn reflects a stoic, disciplined, and hardworking attitude. During this transit, it is important to make sure that we are not being too hard on ourselves, that we are taking care of our emotional needs and not only of practical ones.

We have a chance to consider the true motivations behind our desires, and to contemplate whether our idea of success is truly ours, or it has been affected and distorted by the conditioning and programming we have been exposed to. We may realize if we are defining our success and achievements with external metrics and decide to align with different ones.

Mars conjunct Venus: New Ways of Being in Relationship

During its journey through Capricorn, Mars will conjunct Venus. Exceptionally, there will be two Mars-Venus conjunctions in less than a month due to Venus’ reduced speed after its retrograde period. The first one will happen in Capricorn on February 16, the same day of the Full Moon in Leo, and the second one will be on 0° of Aquarius, on March 6.

The Venus-Mars conjunction in Capricorn indicates the importance of aligning our relationship choices and the way we invest our energy with our values and long-term intentions. The days before the exact aspect, we may feel an urge to detach from people, lifestyles, and ways of spending time that don’t add value to our lives. The conjunction marks a need for experimentation and discovery of new ways of being in relationships. These will, however, be soon reassessed as the two planets meet again in Aquarius a few weeks later.

Mars square Chiron, trine Uranus, & sextile Neptune

On February 4, Mars squares Chiron, now transiting in Mars’ domicile of Aries. Their alignment brings up conflicts centered around self-assertion and self-repression and highlights any tendency to hold back what is instinctual or spontaneous due to fear or insecurity. Mars-Chiron aspects invite us to heal wounds linked to our relationship with masculine energy, particularly correlated to expectations of rejection when we take initiative.

On February 6, Mars trines Uranus in Taurus: this is a supportive alignment that could inspire us to act in original and unusual ways. As both planets are traveling through Earth signs, we may have unexpected work opportunities, possibilities to make an income, or chances to create something eccentric and futuristic by blending tradition and innovation.

Mars enters Capricorn

Mars forms a sextile to Neptune in Pisces on February 23, an aspect of opportunities that will give us possibilities to act in alignment with our ideals and dreams. It could inspire us to reassess our boundaries and redefine what we are available to invest our time and energy in.

Mars conjunct Pluto: Power and Rage

Mars joins Pluto on March 3, fueling a process of purification of our will and intentions that encourages us to align the desires of our ego with our Soul’s desires. The Mars-Pluto conjunction promotes a profound inquiry on what is truly moving us and invites us to come into contact with the root of our anger, of our ambition, of our wanting.

This aspect gives us opportunities to understand what’s beneath our cravings, what our unconscious intentions and motivations are. By exploring our rage, we have a chance to liberate a huge amount of power that can be used as fuel to move forward and improve our lives or can be extremely destructive.

Mars enters Capricorn

The upcoming Mars-Pluto conjunction is the last one in Capricorn for about 250 years. This alignment closes a long cycle of deep, radical transformation. Mars joining Pluto will give us the strength to break free from old structures, let go of past intentions and desires, and create space to discover new ones.

Mars enters Capricorn: Striving for Self-Mastery

While Mars is in the sign of the Sea Goat, we tend to proceed cautiously. Our insecurities may generate some amount of self-repression, a tendency to conceal our emotions, and a general distrust of our instinct and impulses. Fear of failure, of wasting time, and of losing control may arise. During this time, we may take care not to cut ourselves off from our feelings and needs in order to work more or get faster results.

While this transit fuels a desire for tangible, concrete achievements, it is important to strive to balance between work and rest and not push ourselves excessively hard. We have an opportunity to achieve a new level of self-mastery rooted in self-knowledge and self-respect, that doesn’t involve denying our humanness or detaching from our emotions in order to achieve more.

Full Moon in Cancer: Path to Empowerment

On January 17, 6:48 PM ET, we witness the first Full Moon of the calendar year, also referred to as the Wolf Moon. This cosmic event is taking place at 27°50’ of the sign of Cancer, the lunar domicile, and it is guiding us on a path to personal and collective empowerment.

The Moon in Cancer opposes the Sun and Pluto in Capricorn, intensifying our experience of feelings and emotions and inviting us to explore the way we deal with them, showing us what we need to transform and alchemize.

To celebrate the arrival of Full Moon in Cancer, on January 17 9:45 PM ET, we are hosting Global Live Full Moon in Cancer Meditation on our YouTube channel. We invite you to join us, and invite others to meditate together with us. Tap here to find our scheduled live meditation.

Full Moons bring clarity and facilitate understanding.

The light of the Sun completely illuminates the Moon, bringing awareness of our emotional world, subconscious patterns, and habitual reactions. At this time of the month, the truth can be perceived, and mysteries may be revealed. We tend to experience a strong emotionality and some degree of polarization between contrasting drives, as the Sun and the Moon activate opposing and complementary energies.

As the intentions we set on the New Moon may manifest, Full Moons mark the maturation and culmination of the lunar cycle. They inaugurate two weeks of slowing down and decreased momentum, a moment to share what we have been working on with others and release what we no longer want to carry.

The Full Moon of January is also known as the Wolf Moon due to the fact that, at this time of the year and in the Northern part of what today we know as the United States, it was very common to hear howling wolves at night. This has inspired many stories and legends of ancient folklore centered around the connection between wolves and the Full Moon. Wolves remind us of the power of community and mutual support and the importance of being part of a Soul family that has our back in moments of crisis.

Full Wolf Moon in Cancer: There’s No Place Like Home

As an intense Capricorn season culminates, the Full Moon in Cancer highlights our need for safety, softness, belonging, nurturance, and comfort. The Moon is at home here. She expresses herself with great sensitivity and incredible intuition while reflecting an urge to withdraw into our private, inner world to come back to harmony.

While the Moon is in the sign of the Crab, we gravitate towards the familiar, the known, what feels secure. There is a spontaneous attunement to the environment and a natural connection to the surrounding atmosphere. Cancer is the sign relative to family and domestic realms: a Full Moon here is likely to bring these areas of our lives into the spotlight, reminding us that there’s no place like home.

Full Moon opposite Pluto: Finding Internal Security

The Moon correlates with memory, particularly with emotional memory. Her condition reflects how we try to get our emotional needs met and generate conditions of safety. When the Moon forms a hard aspect to Pluto, there can be a tendency to do so through emotional and psychological manipulation of others and the environment. Often, we do so to maintain a connection or a sense of predictability, to avoid feeling threatened from insecurity and the risk of not having our needs met.

Moon-Pluto aspects are about letting go of unhealthy emotional attachments we are dependent upon for comfort and security, and that don’t allow us to develop a sense of safety coming from within. All oppositions bring revelations and understanding, and this Full Moon opposite Pluto has the potential to help us gain clarity on the psychology behind our emotional states and reactions and the expectations we, more or less consciously, place on other people.

Sun conjunct Pluto: Taking Responsibility for our Power

On this Full Moon, Pluto has indeed a prominent role. This faraway planet, considered to be the force of evolution, exposes what is decaying, decomposing, and deteriorating to promote a radical, complete metamorphosis. Since it entered Capricorn in 2008, Pluto has been bringing up all the shadows of society, institutions, and established systems. Meanwhile, this transit invites us to become aware of the conditioning we have internalized due being exposed to these structures.

Pluto is now tightly conjunct with the Sun. The Sun meets Pluto once a year, calling for a deep transformation of our sense of self, purpose, identity, and expression. This alignment is an invitation to take responsibility for our power and don’t be afraid to embody and express it.

Sun-Pluto aspects encourage us to discover the limits of our will, challenge our fears, and explore matters of personal identity, self-confidence, self-affirmation, and exposure. In Capricorn, this alignment invites us to establish our individual identity in the context of the changing social structures. We may reflect on how to contribute to the creation of systems that allow the full expression of our creativity while generating value for the collective.

Full Moon trine Neptune: Opportunities to Heal

The Moon is in a Water trine with Neptune in Pisces, a flowing aspect of ease and harmony. This alignment suggests powerful intuition and ease of connection with the emotions and feelings of others. An immense capacity for empathy and compassion facilitates forgiveness and supports our capacity to put ourselves into someone else’s shoes. During these days, increased emotional openness may help us heal and process something still unresolved.

A desire to save another, to be saved or rescued could come up during this lunation. Neptune in aspect to the Moon erases the boundaries between self and other. It increases our inspiration and our desire for creative expression. Channeling our feelings into art can feel incredibly healing and rewarding. During these days, we may also be careful of not self-sacrificing or dismissing our needs in favor of other people’s needs, which may lead to experiences of disillusionment later on.

Mars square Neptune: Aligning Dreams and Actions

Neptune is quite prominent in this lunation as, besides being aligned with the Moon, is also in a square aspect to Mars in Sagittarius, an energy that has been active for the entire week. Hard aspects between Mars and Neptune always generate some amount of frustration. Squares reflect a tension between two celestial bodies trying to go in different directions and that, in doing so, block each other’s way.

Mars and Neptune have very little in common. While Mars is about action, decision, reactivity, and sharpness, Neptune is about passivity, blurriness, confusion, and receptivity. Their square can reflect some difficulties matching our dreams, ideals, and wishes with actual actions directed towards a specific goal in the material reality. We may feel unmotivated and lethargic and come to believe that our efforts don’t lead to any tangible result. We may feel frustrated if change doesn’t happen fast enough, or have the impression that our life force dissipates in multiple directions.

All Mars-Neptune aspects underline the importance of aligning our actions and choices in the material reality with our spiritual path. They challenge us to resolve any incongruencies between our ideals and values, how we act, and what we do. At their best, Mars-Neptune contacts bring out the most exquisite artistry, creativity, and inspiration, allowing us to connect with our capacity to be a vessel for Spirit and reach deep states of flow.

Full Moon in Cancer: Path to Empowerment

During this pivotal moment of human history, we are becoming more and more aware of what power is and what power isn’t. By witnessing destructive, corrupted examples of authority and leadership, we are being challenged to develop and embody constructive, healthy ones. As we get to understand what we do not want the world to become, we can envision and build a better reality, both for ourselves and for future generations. Everyone is now called to take responsibility to do their part.

We are about to experience two important astrological shifts. Tomorrow the Lunar Nodes change sign and Uranus stations direct, catalyzing an acceleration of events and inviting us to step up to new evolutionary challenges. The Cancer Full Moon reminds us of our task of learning to hold ourselves, parent ourselves, and take care of ourselves emotionally, spiritually, but also financially and materially.

This potent lunation marks a turning point in our path of personal empowerment and emotional maturation. As we deepen our self-knowledge and our understanding of our internal dynamics, we have a chance to embrace a new level of personal responsibility. Refining our self-regulation habits will help us feel stronger, more grounded, and more self-secure, and ultimately navigate the upcoming changes optimally.
