On May 26, 07:13 AM ET, we experience a Super Flower Blood Moon, which is also a Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse, happening at 5°25’ of the sign of Sagittarius and taking place on the South Node of the Moon.

The Total Lunar Eclipse will be visible from most of the Northern and Western parts of the United States, Western South America, Australia, New Zealand, and South-East Asia. Even if we live elsewhere and can’t observe the astronomical phenomena, we will definitely feel the effect of this rare cosmic alignment.

We are experiencing the third Supermoon in a row, an event that culminates a six-month cycle of evolution, which started in December 2020 with the Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius.

To celebrate the arrival of this Super Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse, on May 26th at 9:45 PM ET, we are hosting Global Live Super Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse Meditation on our YouTube channel. We invite you to join us, and invite others to meditate together with us. Tap here to find our scheduled live meditation.

Eclipses: Omens of Fast & Radical Change

Eclipses happen when the Sun and the Moon conjoin or oppose each other on the Lunar Nodes, two points in space marking the intersection between the orbit of the Moon and the Ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun from our perspective on Earth. Eclipses open portals of radical and fast transformation. In the past, they were considered omens of impending change and they were intensely feared, as the luminaries were blocked from providing light and energy to our planet.

Today, we know there is nothing to fear. However, Eclipse season does represent a delicate time of the year: it is a moment to pay particular attention to synchronicities, repeating patterns, messages and signs from the Universe. These cosmic events catalyze transformation by showing us where we are out of balance, what we need to work on, what to release, and what to focus on.

Lunar Eclipses: Supercharged Full Moons

Lunar Eclipses are supercharged Full Moons. They happen two or three times a year when Sun and Moon oppose each other while they are conjunct the Lunar Nodes, currently in the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius. The Earth aligns between Sun and Moon, totally or partially blocking the light of the Sun from reaching the Moon for a few hours.

This Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius will be more intense than a regular Lunar Eclipse for two reasons. The first one is because it is a Total Eclipse, which means that the alignment between Sun, Moon, and the Lunar Nodes is tight, and the second one is because it is a Supermoon, so it is closer to Earth.

Full Moons reveal something to us, they bring us clarity, they shed light on subconscious material and give us a chance to unravel issues we haven’t been able to solve or untangle. On this Sagittarius Lunar Eclipse, the light of the Sun will be temporarily blocked from reaching the Moon, and we may notice a general sense of confusion and insecurity relative to how to interpret the events and circumstances taking place. This is exacerbated by the fact that both Mercury and Venus in Gemini are currently in a tense square alignment with Neptune in Pisces.

Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius: Releasing Old Beliefs & Being True to our Nature

This Lunar Eclipse is in the sign of Sagittarius and on the South Node of the Moon, the point in space relative to gifts and talents we bring with us from the past and to our karmic baggage. The South Node represents something we are very familiar with, and something we might excessively identify with. The North Node, now in Gemini, indicates our evolutionary direction and offers us a chance to achieve balance by integrating the opposite tendencies.

Sagittarius corresponds to our quest for meaning and our desire to give purpose to our life. It is the sign of the explorer, the adventurer, the philosopher, and the teacher. A Mutable, Yang, Fire archetype, Sagittarius learns from direct experience and intuition and loves to dive deep into cosmological, metaphysical, philosophical, and anthropological topics. Sagittarius reminds us to respect and honor Natural Laws while encouraging us to be authentic and spontaneous. This Total Lunar Eclipse in the sign of the Centaur is asking us to let go of whatever is holding us back from aligning with and being true to our nature.

All Eclipses happening on the South Node of the Moon bring up stuff from the past and reveal to us something we still need to understand and integrate. Being a Lunar Eclipse, it represents completion and maturation: its function is to encourage us to release past security attachments, old beliefs, assumptions, outdated ways of perceiving truth that are no longer relevant to our journey.

Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse square Jupiter: Navigating Crises of Faith

We are in a delicate time of transition, many things are happening in the world, and it can be hard to feel optimistic right now. We may struggle with clarity around our vision, our purpose, and our intentions. We may desire to do something good for humanity but don’t know where to start from or how. The old systems are collapsing, and new alternatives haven’t fully emerged yet. Eclipses usually bring things to a head, magnifying and exacerbating issues that were already boiling under the surface, revealing to us what was hidden and forcing us to deal with the full picture.

The Sun, the Moon, and the Lunar Nodes are forming a T-square aspect to Jupiter, ruler of the Lunar Eclipse and the South Node in Sagittarius. Squares are 90° angle reflecting friction and have the purpose of accelerating change.

Jupiter has recently entered the sign of Pisces, its traditional domicile. Jupiter feels very comfortable in Pisces: it increases our visionary capacity while promoting mental expansion, spiritual growth, and a general sense of dynamism.

The current square aspect between Jupiter and Sun, Moon, and Lunar Nodes can reflect a risk of overexpansion, excessive risktaking, and lack of discrimination relative to what we take in, chase, or fight for. During these days, it is important not to hold on too tightly to our belief system, and not to believe everything we hear, read, and see. We may experience confusion relative to our vision, as we are not sure anymore about what is true and what isn’t. This alignment may reflect a need to navigate through a crisis of faith and accept the feeling of not knowing what to believe in anymore.

Venus & Mercury square Neptune: Need for Discernment

As the Lunar Eclipse is taking place, Venus and Mercury in Gemini are in a square aspect to Neptune in Pisces. These alignments are highlighting the need to remain grounded and be particularly discerning of what we take in. As fake or distorted news is likely to spread, getting information from a variety of trusted sources is recommended, and so is taking care of how we invest our mental energy, attention, and focus.

While Mercury square Neptune may be associated with a sense of brain fog, blurriness, and confusion, Venus square Neptune reflects the potential for excessive idealism. A tendency to look at life with rose-colored glasses may manifest in our relationships and love life but also in our financial decisions, the choices we make, the agreements and contracts we may sign. Positively, these aspects support our romantic and spiritual inclinations, increasing our fantasy, imagination, and our capacity to find creative solutions to any challenge we may encounter.

The beautiful Water trine between Mars in Cancer and Neptune in Pisces represents a harmonic aspect that we can attune to in order to make tangible progress towards our dreams and remain devoted to our path. Mars trine Neptune gives us an opportunity to align our actions with our values and ideals, reminding us to be compassionate, elaborate our emotions in mature ways, and invest more energy in our spiritual practices.

Super Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius: Searching for Meaning

This Total Lunar Eclipse culminates a cycle that started in December 2020 with the Solar Eclipse in the sign of the Centaur. Reflect on what was happening in your life back then, recall the intentions you set, think about the situations that showed up for you, review the vision you wished to materialize, and acknowledge what changes have been taking place. At this point, you may witness the results of your efforts, reap some rewards, and have opportunities to blossom and grow into a wiser and more authentic version of yourself.

When Eclipses take place on the South Node of the Moon, we often have the feeling of reliving the past: the experiences that show up during these days have the purpose to help us integrate it and let it go. We have a chance to discover a new sense of direction by finding a new meaning for these experiences, making a conscious choice to close a chapter of our life and begin writing a new one.

Notice what is shifting in your belief system, in your vision, and your sense of purpose. The Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius invites us to detach from the past to make space for the new. Embracing change, celebrating progress, and welcoming doubts will help us move towards deeper authenticity and root into the acceptance of the present moment.
