On March 29, 06:48 AM EST, a New Moon Solar Eclipse at 8º53’ of Aries takes place. Solar Eclipses are catalysts for profound change: they disrupt our routines, shake up the status quo, and push us toward necessary shifts. This New Moon Solar Eclipse occurring in the first sign of the Zodiac is a powerful invitation to leave behind what no longer serves us and step with confidence into a new era.
This event will be visible, at least in part, from most of Europe, the Eastern regions of Canada, the North-Eastern regions of the United States, the North-Western regions of Africa, the Balkans, and the Northern regions of Russia.
The New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries is particularly significant for people with natal placements in the early degrees of Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn). The individuals personally impacted by this event are being initiated into a brand-new chapter of their lives. They are being called to step up, move forward with courage, and break old cycles. This Eclipse urges them to assert their presence in the world, take decisive action, and become the leaders of their lives.
We invite you to watch our hour long Solar Eclipse energy update together with Nina where she walks us through current Eclipse Season and Solar Eclipse in Aries energies.
Solar Eclipses: Portals to a New Reality
For thousands of years, the timing of Eclipses has been correlated with sudden and unexpected events. Equally feared and revered, Solar Eclipses were soon associated with significant turning points and fated changes affecting not only individuals but entire civilizations and nations.
The Sun, the very source of life on Earth, being temporarily obscured, was considered to be a bad omen by our ancestors, and this is a belief that is still present in several cultures nowadays. For this reason, it is traditionally advised not to go outside at all during a visible Solar Eclipse, which should never be looked at with the naked eye for safety reasons.
Solar Eclipses are potent events that open portals to new realities. They are supercharged, exponentially more intense New Moons that bring a powerful wave of renewal and change into our lives. This Eclipse is a partial one, as the Sun will be only partially covered by the Moon, therefore, it won’t be as intense as a Total Solar Eclipse, such as the one we experienced on April 8, 2024.
Time to Take Action
In the first sign of the Zodiac, a New Moon Solar Eclipse is an incredible opportunity to leave the past behind and begin anew. Aries is a Cardinal Fire sign associated with initiation, birth, action, and new beginnings. Ruled by Mars, named after the God of War, Aries teaches us to go after what we desire rather than wait for things to come to us.
When Aries energy is activated by a Solar Eclipse, the keyword is action. The momentum surges and propels us forward: this is a time to make bold choices and be courageous in the pursuit of our desires. Aries’ fire demands bravery and decisiveness: this event reminds us that transformation is not passive, that we must take an active role in our lives to create the reality we aspire to experience.
There won’t be another Eclipse in the sign of Aries until 2032. Therefore, we are also experiencing the end of a cycle, one that began with the North Node’s ingress in the sign of the Ram on July 17, 2023. For this reason, the current Solar Eclipse marks a threshold between the past and the future and pushes us toward uncharted territory, while the winds of change are blowing strong.
Endings and beginnings are happening in unison as the Solar Eclipse in Aries occurs, inaugurating a brand new cycle of personal and collective evolution. This event invites us to take care of unresolved past matters to be able to create space for new opportunities.
Solar Eclipse conjunct the North Node
The New Moon Solar Eclipse occurs in the early degrees of Aries and is conjunct with the North Node in the late degrees of Pisces. This reinforces the feeling that we are experiencing both an ending and a new beginning, that something must come to an end for something new to emerge.
An Eclipse on the North Node always points at the way forward, as the North Node represents an energy we are invited to master and embody in order to progress on our evolutionary path.
In Pisces, the North Node emphasizes the importance of tending to our spiritual wellbeing and allowing illusions to dissolve to be able to connect with what is True in an absolute, universal sense.
This event underlines the value of closure and completion before we embark on new endeavors to avoid energy-drainers, unfinished business, and loose ends. The New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries reminds us that some doors must be fully closed for new ones to open.
Solar Eclipse conjunct Mercury, Venus, and Neptune
The Sun and the Moon at 8º Aries are widely conjunct with Mercury in Aries, as well as Neptune, Venus, and the North Node in Pisces. Both Mercury and Venus are currently retrograde; Mercury is at 0º Aries and will return to Pisces just a few hours after the Eclipse.
Mercury and Venus retrograde offer us an opportunity to revisit unresolved matters, particularly in areas related to communication, relationships, values, and finances, and invite us to see them in a new light.
Mercury’s condition signals a need to reflect on past conversations and decisions, question habitual ways of thinking, and choose a more intuitive, heart-centered approach rather than a purely rational one. Venus retrograde, conjunct Neptune in Pisces, emphasizes the importance of aligning with higher values, cultivating a sense of devotion in everything we do, letting go of superficial attachments, and focusing on what is truly meaningful.
The activation of Neptune at 29º Pisces underscores the need for closure and completion. Neptune enters Aries on March 30, in just a few hours, and is now on the last degree of his home sign, a point of critical changes, of both crises and opportunities.
Once again, these are clear indicators of the liminal, transitionary nature of these times: the invitation for us is to make sure we have wrapped up what is coming to an end in order to make space for the new. Many changes are already unfolding, and many more are on the horizon. This can feel overwhelming, confusing, and potentially chaotic as multiple transitions are happening simultaneously, demanding our attention.
The Mars-Pluto opposition: Evolution and Revolution
As the Solar Eclipse in Aries occurs, Mars in the late degrees of Cancer and Pluto in the early degrees of Aquarius are in an out-of-sign opposition. This is significant since Mars is the ruler of Aries and of this Eclipse, and studying his condition provides deeper insights into the energy of this event and its possible unfolding.
Mars and Pluto already opposed each other twice: first on November 3, 2024, in the signs of Cancer and Capricorn. The second time, on January 3, 2025, while Mars was retrograde in Leo and Pluto was in Aquarius. We are currently building momentum for the final Mars-Pluto opposition, which goes exact on April 26, although its influence is already present.
Mars in Cancer reflects a drive to act based on what feels safe, familiar, or necessary for our emotional security, while Pluto in Aquarius pushes us toward evolution and revolution on both a personal and collective level.
While Mars has to do with our conscious and personal will, Pluto governs all those unconscious and transpersonal forces that drive transformational processes. When these two energies oppose each other, we are asked to confront our resistance to change, break free of emotional attachments that keep us stuck, and become aware of the impact of power imbalances we may be entangled in.
Solar Eclipse in Aries: A New Era
This Solar Eclipse in Aries helps us access the strength to start anew, take risks, and step into unfamiliar territories with courage.During these days, trust the process of transformation, even if it feels unsettling, even if it doesn’t make sense. This Eclipse reminds us that we are stepping into a new era, one marked by accelerated change. Neptune is entering Aries in less than a day and Uranus leaves Taurus to enter Gemini in just a few weeks.
Following Pluto’s final ingress in Aquarius, all transpersonal planets will be in new signs soon, creating an incredible surge of momentum and filling our lives with novelty and change. This Solar Eclipse in Aries opens the doors to an entirely new reality, one that, just months ago, may have seemed unimaginable. Now, we have the opportunity to step into this portal with faith, courage, and excitement for what lies ahead, acknowledging our fears without letting them hold us back.
