On April 15, 09:15 AM —

On April 16, 02:25 AM EST, Mercury, now in direct motion, returns to Aries, continuing the post-shadow phase of its recent retrograde. Mercury remains in Aries until May 10, offering us an opportunity to set clear intentions and embrace decisiveness after weeks of introspection, redirection, and reassessment. This combination of energies encourages quick thinking and an instinctual approach to problem-solving.

Mercury’s ingress into Aries is particularly relevant for people with natal placements in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), as well as for individuals with planets or angles in Gemini and Virgo, the signs ruled by Mercury. Those personally impacted by Mercury’s shift of signs are being asked to embrace a more assertive approach to communication and decision-making. The invitation for them is to take action on their ideas and allow their instinct and intuition to guide them.

Mercury from Pisces to Aries: Decisiveness and Clear Intentions

The transition from Pisces to Aries represents a rebirth and the beginning of a brand-new chapter of growth. While planets in Pisces are concluding a cycle through the Zodiac wheel and inviting us to let go of old ways and outdated attachments, planets in Aries encourage us to look at our reality with new eyes, with childlike innocence and wonder.

In Pisces, Mercury offered us an opportunity to explore non-linear ways of expressing ourselves and go beyond the boundaries of logic. This combination of energies supported poetic and artistic expression and challenged us to add more magic to our daily lives. Mercury in Pisces gave us an opportunity to deepen our trust in our intuition and our ability to go with the flow while encouraging us to let go of any need for control or rigid planning.

In Aries, Mercury encourages us to be decisive and communicate honestly and directly. Mercury’s shift of signs is an invitation to continue our observation of our relationship with self-assertion, expressing anger, and taking action on our ideas. Mercury’s second ingress and transit into Aries is an opportunity to explore new visions, embrace a new mindset, and allow our inner fire to inspire our actions.

Mercury returns to Aries and the Post-Shadow phase

Mercury made its first ingress into Aries on March 3, 2025, stationed retrograde on March 15, and returned to Pisces on March 29. The Messenger stationed retrograde at 9º of Aries and until it reaches that degree again, we will be traversing the post-shadow phase of its recent retrograde.

The post-shadow phase of a retrograde is the time when the planet travels for the third and last time over the degrees where the retrograde occurred. This window of time is an opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of the purpose and meaning of the events that took place during the retrograde and make necessary adjustments. The post-shadow phase is an invitation to align our external reality with the inner changes that have taken place. This particular Mercury’s post-shadow phase ends on April 26. Until then, we have an opportunity to better integrate the lessons learned during the retrograde and act accordingly.

Mercury conjunct Neptune and Chiron, sextile Pluto and Jupiter

As soon as it enters Aries, Mercury crosses Neptune, now in the sign of the Ram. Despite Mercury no longer being retrograde or in Pisces, its conjunction with Neptune can continue to perpetuate feelings of confusion for a few more days, blurring the lines between fact and fiction. At the same time, this transit enhances intuition, creative thinking, and the ability to access new insights through dreams, repeating symbols, and synchronicities.

Mercury in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius form the last of a series of three sextiles on April 20. The two planets already aligned on March 5 and March 25 and their final sextile represents the culmination of a process of transformation of our mindset, communication patterns, and way of perceiving reality. The final sextile between Mercury and Pluto can correspond with the emergence of new, previously unknown information, the revelation of secrets, and a-ha moments that allow us to see our reality from an entirely new perspective.

On May 5, Mercury forms a sextile with Jupiter in Gemini. This harmonious aspect supports our communication efforts as well as all kinds of learning endeavors. The Mercury-Jupiter alignment inspires us to be curious, ask questions, do our own research, and approach life with curiosity and a growth-oriented mindset.

On May 6, Mercury crosses Chiron in Aries. The Mercury-Chiron conjunction can bring the spotlight on unhealed wounds surrounding the feeling of being misunderstood or unheard, as well as any lack of confidence in our communication skills or in our ability to understand. This aspect offers us an invitation to allow our pain to teach us what we need to learn and shift the way we express ourselves as a result. Mercury and Chiron’s meeting in Aries encourages us to reclaim our voice, speak our truth without fear of judgment, and rewrite old narratives.
