While the Moon keeps waning, a new calendar month starts. The first half of April will be defined by the strong activation of the Fire element, the Yang polarity, and the Cardinal modality. Aries season is about new beginnings: at this time of the year, the Cosmos is encouraging us to open new paths, gain experience, and learn through a process of trial and error. Moreover, all planets will be in direct motion until April 27, when Pluto stations retrograde: the first weeks of the month represent a favorable time for action, decision making, and forward movement.
During the second half of April, the overall atmosphere is going to shift from Yang to Yin, especially after Mars enters Cancer. Taurus season will be characterized by the prominence of the Earth element and the Fixed modality, as we will have four planets in the sign of the Bull. However, thanks to the presence of Uranus, Taurus season will be everything but boring. Venus, Mercury, and the Sun will all form conjunctions with the modern ruler of Aquarius, which will also oppose the Full Moon in Scorpio.

Mercury enters Aries

We begin the month with Mercury entering Aries and joining the Sun and Venus in the sign of the Warrior, increasing the activation of the Fire element in the skies. While Mercury in Pisces expresses in dreamy, soft, and sometimes even melancholic ways, Mercury in Aries is enthusiastic, bold, and unfiltered.
We are going to feel a big shift in how we think, communicate, learn, and perceive the world. This transit, lasting until April 19, encourages us to speak our truth fearlessly and to explore how we can be assertive and direct without being aggressive, rude, or intimidating. New Moon in Aries

We are experiencing the start of the first lunar cycle since the beginning of the New Astrological Year and the March Equinox. The Aries New Moon increases the energy of initiation and action. This cosmic event lights us up, igniting our passion, stimulating our need for adventure and excitement, and inviting us to trust our instinct and desires.
Mars, ruler of the New Moon, will be in a square aspect to Neptune: their alignment may reflect a sense of confusion and disorientation, a feeling of not knowing how or when to take action, what to invest in, and what to focus on. Yet, this aspect comes with a significant amount of inspiration and has the potential to enhance our imagination: Mars square Neptune gives us tools to creatively solve any issue or challenge that might come up.
Meanwhile, the Sun, the Moon, and Venus in Aries will all be in a square aspect to Pluto in Capricorn. These alignments will add a fair amount of tension, highlighting power struggles and control dynamics, increasing our need to break free from restriction, which will play out both on a personal and a collective level. Nonetheless, the tension of these squares is highly motivating: it can indeed be used as fuel to move forward and overcome obstacles and limitations.
Venus enters Taurus

Shortly after the New Moon takes place, Venus leaves Aries and enters Taurus, one of the signs where the Goddess of Beauty and Love is traditionally considered in domicile. This shift will redirect part of our energy and focus back on ourselves and our inner world.
While Venus is in Taurus, we are encouraged to reconsider our value system, reflect on the foundation of our sense of self-worth, and on our relationship with pleasure and abundance. Venus in Taurus is about self-nurturance, receptivity, and self-love: this transit invites us to reconnect with our senses and with our physical body and to embody deeper levels of self-trust and self-reliance.
Sun & Mercury enter Taurus

Full Super Moon in Scorpio

After a few months with all planets in direct motion, Pluto stations retrograde in Capricorn, inviting reassessment, reflection, and self-analysis. When Pluto turns retrograde, our focus internalizes, and our self-analysis deepens. Pluto retrograde is an invitation to reconnect with our inner power and strength and to carefully examine our motivations, intentions, and desires.
Until October, Pluto invites us to challenge our existing limitations through deeper self-confrontation, encouraging us to dive fearlessly into our unconscious material to speed up our growth process.
April 2021 Astrology Update: Our Invitation
April, in particular the second half of it, is likely to be a month of acceleration and unpredictability. The important activation of Uranus will speed up our individuation and deconditioning journey.
