On April 23, 11:11 AM —

On April 27, 3:30 PM EST, a New Moon at 7º46’ of Taurus occurs, bringing us an invitation to ground into our bodies and find stability amidst change. This is the first New Moon that is not an Eclipse since the beginning of Eclipse season and officially closes the Eclipse portal.

The Taurus New Moon is particularly significant for people with natal placements in the early degrees of Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius). Those personally impacted by this New Moon are likely to experience inner and outer shifts that catalyze new beginnings and invite them to deepen their connection with themselves and their bodies. During the upcoming lunar month, they will have opportunities to deepen their trust in themselves and their resources, and commit to creating a life aligned with their true values.

We invite you to watch our hour long video on our YouTube channel together with Nina where she walks us through the powerful energies of New Moon in Taurus.

New Moon in Taurus: Invitation to Ground into our Bodies

New Moons mark the start of the lunar month and bring renewal and fresh energy into our lives. These events are an opportunity for us to plant new seeds and get clear about the direction we are taking. Every month, the Moon gives us an opportunity to begin anew, to start fresh, to set new intentions, and to embark on a new path.

Once a month, the Sun and the Moon align perfectly in the skies, forming a 0º angle from our perspective on Earth. During a New Moon, the luminaries meet in the same Zodiac sign and offer us an invitation to explore new ways to relate to its energy.

This month, Sun and Moon align in the early degrees of Taurus, beginning a lunar cycle centered around grounding into our bodies, building new foundations, and learning to value ourselves not for what we do, but for who we are. This event brings the spotlight on the need to develop an intentional relationship with ourselves and our physical body and to recognize ourselves as part of Nature.

Slow Down and Feel

Taurus is a Fixed, Yin, and Earth sign, the second one in the Zodiac Wheel. Following Aries, correlated with the moment of birth and the emergence of individual consciousness, Taurus is associated with the emergence of survival instinct. At this stage, we gain awareness of the resources we need to preserve and sustain life and begin to develop a relationship with ourselves, our physical bodies, and the physical aspect of our sexuality, connected with the instinct to procreate to continue the species.

The Moon, ruling over our emotional world, needs, and vulnerabilities, is traditionally considered to be exalted in Taurus. In this slow and steady sign, the Moon feels comfortable and contained and it becomes easier to give ourselves enough space and time to feel whatever we need to feel. Our bodies communicate with us at all times and the Moon in Taurus reminds us of the link between emotional states and physical sensations: this combination of energies invites us to tune in and learn to listen to the language of our bodies.

The New Moon in Taurus inaugurates a lunar month focused on deepening our embodiment, our ability to be present and grounded in our physicality, as well as our willingness to make decisions according to what our bodies need. This event invites a renewal of our relationship with ourselves and a deepening of our ability to feel both our emotions and our physical sensations.

New Moon in Taurus

New Moon square Mars and Pluto

The Sun and the Moon in Taurus square Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius, currently in exact opposition. The activation of the Mars-Pluto alignment adds more intensity and complexity to the upcoming lunar month and invites us to make sure we are staying grounded amidst any changes and challenges we may experience.

Mars and Pluto already aligned twice, because of Mars’ recent retrograde. The first Mars-Pluto opposition occurred on November 3, in the signs of Cancer and Capricorn, while the second one took place on January 3, with Mars retrograde in Leo and Pluto direct in Aquarius. We are now witnessing the culmination of a journey we have been on since the early days of November 2024.

Both Mars and Pluto have to do with our desires, Mars with our conscious desires and Pluto with the unconscious ones, stemming directly from our Soul. When these two planets face each other, our conscious drives clash with our unconscious urges, compulsions, and fears: with the luminaries squaring both, the pressure builds.

The New Moon in Taurus wants peace, stability, and simplicity. But Mars and Pluto are not here for comfort: they are here to disrupt patterns that keep us stagnant.

The T-square configuration involving the Sun, the Moon, Mars, and Pluto intensifies the tension between our resistance to change and the forces of evolution, pushing us toward growth and transformation. Navigating the friction between the need to transform and our attachment to comfort, familiarity, and perceived security is a theme that will continue to be relevant during the upcoming lunar month.

Venus conjunct Saturn, Neptune, and the Lunar North Node

Venus is the planetary ruler of Taurus and of this New Moon: studying her condition gives us deeper insights about the energy of this event and the potential unfolding of the upcoming lunar cycle. Now in Pisces, the sign of her traditional exaltation, Venus has been in the spotlight for a while, and she completed her retrograde journey two weeks ago.

As the Taurus New Moon takes place, Venus is conjunct with Saturn and the Lunar North Node in the late degrees of Pisces, and is also approaching her third exact conjunction with Neptune, now in Aries.

The Venus-Saturn conjunction is a call for spiritual and relational maturity and an opportunity to solidify those bonds and connections that we aspire to carry forward. After Venus’ retrograde journey invited a restructuring of our values and relationships, we are now being asked to make decisions in alignment with the new awareness that emerged in the past weeks. The Venus-Saturn conjunction in Pisces reminds us of the sacredness of commitment and challenges us to make sure we are living in integrity with our core values.

The activation of the Lunar North Node magnifies the karmic relevance and potential long-term implication of the decisions we make around this time, while continuing to ask us to choose growth over comfort.

Venus is approaching her third and final conjunction with Neptune. The Venus-Neptune conjunction can lift the veil on illusions we held and bring truth to the surface. If we have been projecting our ideals and fantasies onto another, this conjunction offers us a chance to reclaim our projections, integrate them, and see both ourselves and the people in our lives more clearly.

This alignment invites us to renew our ideals and dreams, particularly when it comes to romance. At its highest expression, Venus conjunct Neptune is an invitation to attune to the frequency of divine, unconditional love.

New Moon in Taurus: Finding Stability amidst Change

The Taurus New Moon invites us to return to our roots, to what is essential, to simplify our lives by cutting out the noise and distractions that pull us away from our center. This event is an invitation to slow down and be present with the emotions and sensations that arise, to give space to the tension we may be experiencing, to the frustration and friction that may surface.

Taurus reminds us that true growth does not come from constant striving or overdoing, but from showing up again and again for ourselves and what we value, making sure we do so from a nourished and self-resourced place.

This is also an invitation to reflect on our relationship with comfort, stability, and security, and to recognize what helps us stay grounded and connected with ourselves and what instead keeps us stuck and stagnant.

We have an opportunity to redefine security, not as control, but as deep trust in our resilience and inner strength. This New Moon asks us to cultivate patience, to trust the process, to stop chasing external validation and instead build a life aligned with what brings us true fulfillment and peace.
