On February 4, 08:08 AM —

On February 4, 2025, 02:57 AM EST, Venus leaves Pisces and enters Aries, bringing a boost of energy and passion into our romantic and financial lives, reminding us to own our desires, and motivating us to dive into what lights us up without hesitation.

Venus is going to spend a longer time than usual in Aries, due to her upcoming retrograde, starting on March 1. Her retrograde begins at 10º of Aries and, on March 27, Venus returns to Pisces. On April 12, Venus is going to station direct in Pisces and enters Aries for the second time on April 30. This year, Venus will enter Taurus only on June 6.

Venus’ ingress into Aries and her upcoming retrograde are particularly relevant for people with natal placements in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), as well as for those with planets or angles in Taurus, which is ruled by Venus. The individuals personally impacted by this transit will have opportunities to embark on a journey of personal and relational transformation and make significant and lasting changes in their values, relationships, and finances.

Venus from Pisces to Aries: the Value of Action

Ruling both Taurus and Libra, Venus in Astrology governs our desire to create beauty, harmony, and balance within us and all around us. She is connected with how we relate with ourselves, our bodies, nature, pleasure, and the things that bring us joy. Venus is deeply tied to how we connect with other people, but also with how we relate to and perceive abundance, with what we value, as well as with how we meet our basic survival needs.

Venus’ journey through Pisces invited us to transcend boundaries, open our hearts to deeper connections, and recognize the role of relationships in our spiritual journey. This transit encouraged us to dissolve limiting beliefs about love, beauty, and wealth, while also reminding us of the importance of staying grounded and making sure our expectations are realistic.

As Venus enters Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac, the energy shifts dramatically. Venus in Aries is bold, dynamic, and action-oriented: this transit inspires us to approach relationships, art, and self-expression with courage and enthusiasm while motivating us to prioritize self-love and explore our desires unapologetically.

Venus enters Aries: Owning Our Desires

When Venus travels through the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries, we are invited to take charge of our desires, pursue what we want with confidence, and express our feelings boldly and directly. Venus in Aries emphasizes the value of initiative and action. This is a time to take ownership of our relationships and passions, rather than waiting for others to make the first move or give us permission to go after what we want. During this transit, we are reminded that healthy relationships with others begin with a healthy relationship to ourselves and require the ability to know and honor our own needs and desires.

Venus in Aries will inspire us to approach love, creativity, and life with a childlike enthusiasm, take creative risks, and dive into what lights us up without hesitation.

Impatience, impulsivity, unconscious self-centredness, and lack of consideration for others are tendencies likely to be exacerbated while Venus is in Aries. During this transit, we may find ourselves seeking instant gratification more often or becoming especially frustrated if things don’t unfold as quickly as we’d like to.

The current Venus Cycle is Coming to a Close

The upcoming Venus in Aries transit is particularly significant in the context of the Venus cycle, which reflects Venus’ changing relationship to the Earth and the Sun. Similarly to the lunar cycle, the Venus cycle goes through different phases and marks shifts and transitions in our relationship with all things Venus: love, connections, art, beauty, finances, sensuality, values, self-worth, as well as issues surrounding survival needs.

Around February 17, Venus will reach her maximum brilliance as an Evening Star, shining at her brightest in the sky before beginning her descent toward the Sun. This is the peak of her visibility before she gradually fades from our view: her last day of visibility in the night sky is on March 19, 2025. As she moves closer to the Sun, Venus becomes invisible, entering what is often referred to as her journey into the underworld. This is a time of inner reflection and inner work, a period for confronting unresolved matters, dealing with unfinished business, and tying up loose ends.

Venus’ Upcoming Retrograde and the Beginning of her New Cycle

Venus stations retrograde on March 1, bringing us on a journey of reevaluation, redefinition, and reassessment of our relationships, values, finances, and desires. While retrograde, on March 22, Venus is going to meet the Sun in Aries: this is technically known as her “inferior conjunction” and popularly as a “Venus Star Point”. This event begins a new Venus cycle. The inferior Venus-Sun conjunction can be likened to the energy of a New Moon as it symbolizes a new beginning and brings renewal and fresh energy in our relationships, values, and finances.

The Venus cycle we are in now began on August 13, 2023, when retrograde Venus and the Sun met at 20º of Leo: this cycle is now coming to a close. The current stage of the Venus cycle can be compared to the Last Quarter phase of the Moon’ cycle. We will soon move into the Balsamic or Dark phase of the Venus cycle, which will last until the inferior Venus-Sun conjunction on March 22.

This is a powerful time to reflect on what we have learned about ourselves, about our values, about money, and about relationships since August 2023 and get clear on what we are ready to leave behind. As we get ready to step into a new chapter, we have a wonderful opportunity to observe how we changed during this time and reflect on what we want to do differently in the future, particularly in matters of love, romance, money, self-love, and self-worth.

The Three Venus-Pluto sextiles: Journey of Transformation

As Venus prepares to complete her current cycle and begin a new one, she is going to sextile Pluto in Aquarius three times: once before her retrograde, once during the retrograde, and once after her retrograde. The dates are February 3, March 21, and May 6.

Sextiles are aspects of productive cooperation between planets that are traveling through signs of the same polarity (Yin or Yang) and compatible elements (in this case, Fire and Air). The Venus-Pluto sextiles guide us on a journey of transformation of our values and our relationship with both ourselves and others.

In the upcoming weeks and months, we have an opportunity to gain a deeper awareness of the hidden mechanics, defensive strategies, and unconscious needs that impact the way we relate and make significant changes in both our inner and outer realities.
