On February 27, 03:17 AM ET, we witness an enchanting Full Moon, happening at 8°57’ of the sign of Virgo.
Full Moons take place when the Sun and the Moon form a 180°angle, technically known as an opposition, and the Sun’s rays completely illuminate the side of the Moon facing the Earth. The Moon in Virgo is now opposing the Sun in Pisces, and their alignment brings things to completion, promoting clarity and understanding.
Full Moons are the peak and blossoming of the lunar cycle: they are meant to be a moment of celebration and culmination. As we witness the maturation of our efforts and intentions, we are encouraged to honor the progress we made throughout the first half of the lunar cycle and to enjoy the results of our work.
The Full Moon we experience in February is also known as the Snow Moon, due to the snowstorms that tend to be common at this time of the year in most of the Northern and Eastern parts of the United States.
To celebrate the arrival of this Full Snow Moon in Virgo, on Ferbuary 27 at 9:45 PM ET, we are hosting Global Live Full Snow Moon in Virgo Meditation on our YouTube channel. We invite you to join us, and invite others to meditate together with us. Tap here to find our scheduled live meditation.
Virgo: Discernment, Discrimination, and Healthy Habits
Virgo is an Earth, Mutable, Yin archetype. Ruled by the Yin side of Mercury, directed inwards towards critical thinking and self-analysis, Virgo corresponds to the season of harvesting: the process of separating the weeds from the wheat symbolizes our capacity to discriminate, to discern what is useful and what is not. Similarly, the Full Moon in Virgo invites us to choose carefully how we invest our energy and focus and to be mindful of how we manage the power of our attention.
As an Earth sign, Virgo has a strong correlation with physicality and earthly matters. In particular, it is associated with our desire to understand how our body works in order to maximize our health and wellbeing. Through Virgo, we establish and maintain healthy habits, we cultivate a positive relationship with our body and our health, and we choose every day to love and respect ourselves by paying attention to what we consume and intake, not only in terms of food, but also in terms of information, energies, and emotions.
This Full Moon may reveal to us those habits and routines that are supporting our wellbeing, and the ones that are not. As we gain more clarity and understanding of ourselves and our reality, we are encouraged to make conscious daily choices from a place of self-awareness and self-love.
Virgo vs Pisces: Balancing Logic and Intuition, Abstract Reasoning and Rationality
The opposition between the Moon in Virgo and the Sun in Pisces, widely conjunct Venus, is highlighting the necessity to find a balance between logic and intuition, order and chaos, rationality and abstract reasoning, left and right brain.
While Virgo is inclined towards practicality, effectiveness, planning, and organization, Pisces tends to go with the flow, embracing what comes up and trusting the Universe. Yet, there needs to be a balance between the two: an excess towards any end of a spectrum is never healthy or sustainable in the long run.
While Pisces teaches us to surrender and accept that we can’t control everything, Virgo teaches us that a good, practical strategy must follow any intention setting. Virgo reminds us that we need to put in the daily work needed if we want our dreams to come true, that we need to commit to an ongoing process of self-improvement and refinement of our skills if we want to feel fulfilled, offer value to humanity, and make the world a better place.
The Full Moon in Virgo opposing the Sun in Pisces is an invitation to balance these polarities: to dream big and cultivate faith in the natural unfolding of things, while we keep striving to get better and we engage in self-analysis to become aware of what we need to improve, yet without beating ourselves up for our imperfection.
Embracing the Beauty and the Imperfection of the Physical Dimension
The Virgo-Pisces polarity has a lot to do with the need to reconcile the physical and the spiritual planes. While Pisces is about trying to transcend the physical dimension by cultivating a connection with Spirit, other realms, and a Higher Power, Virgo is about honoring and embracing the physical, including our bodily experiences and limitations. Through Virgo, we learn to perceive our body as a gateway to the discovery of timeless truths, rather than as something dirty or impure that needs to be fixed or hidden.
Virgo is often associated with excessive perfectionism leading to constant feelings of self-doubt and cyclical crises. These are stemming from the awareness that everything can be better and that there’s always something more that could be done. Pisces reminds us that we are where we need to be, that we are already perfect and complete. A dynamic balance can be found in being committed to ongoing self-improvement without beating ourselves up for not measuring up to an ideal standard of perfection that is unnatural and unattainable.

Full Snow Moon in Virgo trine Uranus: Embodying our Genius & Being Originally Practical
The trine between the Full Moon and Uranus increases our desire for novelty and new experiences. The trine is a 120° angle representing easy flow and understanding between two celestial bodies. When two planets are connected by a trine they support each other’s function, their qualities blend and they work together easily. However, we need to actively make an effort to channel their energies towards a concrete purpose, as this aspect doesn’t force us into action, but only suggests it.
Archetypally, Uranus longs to break free from stagnation and repetition, while the Moon tends to stick to familiar habits and ways of living. However, the current harmonic alignment between Uranus in Taurus and the Full Moon in Virgo facilitates the integration of the changes that have been taking place: it eases the process of moving away from old routines and establishing new ones.
This planetary configuration supports our efforts to embrace our uniqueness and to be ourselves fully without worrying about other people’s opinions of us. The Earth trine between the Moon and Uranus promotes original practicality and facilitates the embodiment of our genius through the establishment of consistent habits.
Mercury trine North Node: Broadening Our Mental Horizons
Mercury is the planetary ruler of Virgo: its condition and the aspects it makes will give us more in-depth insights into the energetic quality of this Full Moon. Mercury, the Messenger of the Gods, has recently stationed direct in Aquarius and formed an exact conjunction with Jupiter on February 14. Mercury is still conjunct both Jupiter and Saturn and is creating a trine to the North Node in Gemini.
Mercury is also the planetary ruler of the North Node, the point in space symbolizing our collective karmic path. The planet of communication, logic, learning, and critical thinking represents a supportive influence for our movement towards our evolutionary direction. Mercury in Aquarius conjunct Jupiter and trine the North Node promotes the broadening of our mental horizons, increasing our willingness and desire to commit to an ongoing learning process, both intellectual and experiential.
The Full Moon in Virgo reminds us to embrace whatever experience we encounter on our path and consider it as a learning opportunity. Mercury in Aquarius supports the objective observation of our circumstances and possibilities, allowing us to adopt a detached bird’s eye view of our reality. This can help us reach a better understanding of what shows up for us during these days.
Full Snow Moon in Virgo: the Journey of Devotion
As mentioned previously, Virgo is about discriminating the information we take in, selecting what we want to pay attention to and invest energy in at any given moment, and filtering out what is not relevant. This celestial alignment is inviting us to apply our knowledge and expertise in ways that are practical and useful, to be able to serve the collective while feeling fulfilled and inspired on a personal level.
The Full Moon in Virgo is reminding us to honor our progress while inviting us to keep striving to become the best version of ourselves we can be. Virgo inspires us to make the most out of any challenge, to keep getting better, and to commit to seeing obstacles as stepping stones for deeper levels of self-mastery and self-knowledge. We are now encouraged to make decisions from a grounded place, as we have the chance to achieve a clearer understanding of reality and of why we have ended up where we are at.
The Virgo Full Moon opposing the Sun in Pisces inspires us to see the sacredness and the beauty in the human experience and to find sparks of the divine in our ordinary and mundane lives. This cosmic event invites us to embark on the path of devotion and to experiment with what happens when we consciously adopt a devotional attitude towards our daily tasks and chores. When we see our worldly commitments and duties as a chance to cultivate mindfulness and be in the present rather than a burden or an impediment, new opportunities and possibilities open up, and we naturally become more receptive to magic and grace.
